Multi-state commercial insurance carrier is seeking an individual to join our Commercial Auto Division as a Business Analyst. This individual will be responsible for development and maintenance of periodic reports, including those concerning product rates and profitability, helping to synthesize and shape key messages and to deliver action insights to stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities/Deliverables:

  • Revises rates for various programs and prepares filing memoranda to obtain insurance department approval.
  • Aids in designing and pricing new products or rating plans.
  • Analyzes experience and performs miscellaneous research activities.
  • Assists in developing management reports that are used to monitor performance, behavior, and results of company goals and objectives.
  • Assist actuaries in other matters as needed.
  • Maintain and perpetuate an organization culture that abides by the company's core values and that attracts and retains high-level talent.

Technical Knowledge and Understanding:

  • Experience and/or aptitude in Excel
  • Experience and/or aptitude in data manipulation tools such as Power BI, SQL, Microsoft Access a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written.
  • Credit for completion of one or more Casualty Actuarial Society exams a plus.


Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics or related field or commensurate experience.
  • 1-3 years relevant working experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated track record of achievement on relevant projects a plus.


The expected pay range for the role is $60,000 - $70,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant's skills and experiences. The disclosed pay range estimate may also be adjusted for the applicable geographic differential for the location in which the position is filled.
