This full-time position will allow you to utilize your professional skills to support the emotional and psychological well-being of university students, helping to cultivate a nurturing environment for academic and personal growth.

About the Organization

At Gotham Enterprises Ltd, we are committed to enhancing the mental health landscape for our student community. As a remote-based counselor, you will be part of a vibrant and supportive virtual team dedicated to fostering the mental health of university students. Discover an innovative work culture encouraging flexibility to accommodate varied schedules, including occasional evening hours during peak times. You will benefit from using advanced telehealth technologies designed to streamline patient engagement and treatment planning while adhering to all ethical and legal guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough intake assessments and screenings to understand students' mental health needs and formulate personalized treatment plans.
  • Facilitate short-term individual counseling sessions and provide crisis intervention services to students facing a spectrum of challenges including anxiety, depression, and stress management.
  • Lead therapy groups and workshops focused on essential themes such as coping strategies, resilience building, and personal development.
  • Collaborate with campus departments, faculty, and student organizations to ensure comprehensive support for students, promoting academic and personal success.
  • Engage in outreach initiatives, running mental health awareness campaigns and wellness programs to destigmatize mental health challenges and encourage student well-being.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential electronic health records, ensuring compliance with all relevant ethical standards and legislation.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on the diverse and dynamic population of college students within New Braunfels, Texas. Understanding the unique set of pressures and challenges faced by this age group—including academic stress, social dynamics, and identity explorations—will be key to delivering effective therapy and support.

Qualifications
  • A current and valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) is mandatory.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related discipline is required.
  • Strong competency in understanding the multifaceted mental health concerns unique to the collegiate demographic.
  • Exceptional communication skills to effectively connect with students and work collaboratively within a diverse academic community.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic practices and brief therapy models pertinent to university counseling settings.
Preferred Experience
  • At least two years of experience working in mental health counseling, particularly within a university or similar educational setting.
  • Experience in conducting group therapy sessions and workshops.
  • Established connections in the mental health network, which may facilitate referrals and support.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Attractive salary range of USD 60,000 – 75,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
  • Comprehensive benefits including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off to promote work-life balance.
  • Professional development opportunities targeted towards advancing your skills and qualifications within the mental health field.
  • A supportive work culture that values contributions from all team members and encourages collaborative learning.
  • Access to additional university resources such as libraries and cultural events.
