Harborview Medical Center - Radiology/Cath Lab has an outstanding opportunity for Registered Nurse.
WORK SCHEDULE
- 60% FTE (24 hours per week), Day Shift.
- The Radiology department at Harborview is staffed 24 x 7 and performs a high volume of image guided procedures annually. Harborview has state-of-the-art imaging suites that support various specialties.
Our radiology nurses are dedicated professionals who fulfill roles in patient preparation, monitoring, and post-procedure care.
Note: The Radiology/Cath Lab RN2 positions include on-call and weekend shift requirements
Responsibilities include: - Collaborative Care: Work closely with night shift staff across various disciplines to provide essential support to radiology patients, ensuring seamless patient care and coordination.
- Cardiovascular Care: Provide care for hemodynamically unstable STEMI patients and those in cardiogenic shock, ensuring timely and effective interventions, including titrating vasoactive medications.
- Interventional Support: Assist with diagnostic and interventional body and neuro Angio procedures as well as heart catheterizations, utilizing advanced technologies such as IVUS, iFR/FFR, IABP, and Impella.
- Sedation Administration: Administer minimal to moderate sedation for patients undergoing procedures in the Cath Lab, Body Angio, and Neuro Angio suites, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work with various departments, including ECHO, EKG, Cardiology, and Neuro, across different areas of the hospital to ensure integrated patient care.
- Pacemakers For MRI - Ensure the safe management of patients with MR Conditional pacemakers or implantable cardiac devices during MRI procedures by programming the device into MRI-safe mode and restoring it post-scan.
- Patient Screening & Assessment: Screen and assess patients for safe moderate/minimal sedation in procedures such as diagnostic cerebral angiograms, angiograms for embolization, tunneled line placements, implanted ports, and dialysis catheter placements.
- Moderate Sedation for Additional Procedures: Administer moderate sedation for other procedures such as bone biopsies and solid organ biopsies, ensuring safety and patient comfort throughout.
- Anesthesia Recovery: Oversee the recovery of patients from general anesthesia, ensuring stability and safety before transferring them to other areas within the hospital.
- Embolic Stroke & Trauma Care: Assist in the timely coordination of care for embolic stroke patients and trauma patients requiring embolization, working closely with physicians, radiology technicians, and nurses.
- Ultrasound-Guided IV Insertion: Receive training to perform ultrasound-guided IV insertions for patients with challenging venous access and as needed, support ancillary departments in this capacity.
- REQUIREMENTS:
Requires WA (or applicable multistate) RN License and minimum two years critical care (ICU, ED, Cath, IR) nursing experience.
