Job description

Job Title: Infrastructure Asset Management Specialist [or Capital Planning Manager]

Location: Hybrid or Remote Work Eligible Hours: Full-Time or Part-Time

Program: Water/Wastewater Program

Job Summary:

This role requires a self-starter with a bias for action and a willingness to learn and adapt quickly. The successful candidate will have a strong background in water and wastewater utility operations and infrastructure management, while possessing strong organizational and communication skills critical to working with diverse teams. This role requires initiative and involves significant collaboration with client teams and utility purveyors. There is considerable latitude offered for independent judgment and strong business support for actions related to program objectives.

Responsibilities:

Provide commercial, industrial, and municipal clients with infrastructure portfolio management services, leveraging expertise in water and wastewater infrastructure engineering to deliver programs that enhance business value.

  • Scope and facilitate engineering studies, infrastructure asset management practices, and research projects to accomplish and inform company and client objectives.

Prepare contracts, develop rough order magnitude cost and schedule estimates, secure permits, obtain landowner agreements, establish purveyor relationships, facilitate municipal agreements and resiliency programs, and oversee construction projects.

  • Utilize purveyor data and bespoke hydraulic modeling to forecast vulnerabilities (like extreme weather or pump station breakdowns) and develop contingency and mitigation plans to reduce out of service events.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to assemble and organize data and analytics for system-wide gap assessments and scenario modeling of wet utilities. Efforts are intended to identify infrastructure optimizations, reduce out of service time, and address urgent deferred maintenance.

  • Preposition project and program work for success by leveraging a risk-management and solution-driven approach.

  • Support marketing efforts and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with 5+ years of relevant experience is a minimum requirement for this role. Operations experience at a moderate to large sized water or wastewater utility preferred.

  • While we appreciate the depth of knowledge that advanced degrees provide, we're equally excited by candidates who demonstrate a strong entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to think outside the box.

  • Professional licensure (PE) or a comparable licensure credential is necessary.

  • Proficiency in industry relevant software and tools.

  • We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applications from individuals who are authorized to work in the U.S.
