Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Position Title: Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Department: Operations
Reports To: President/CEO
FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Summary

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of Knox Title and ensuring the efficient delivery of title, escrow, and closing services. The COO works closely with the CEO to support company goals, improve operational efficiency, maintain regulatory compliance, develop employees, and provide exceptional customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the company, including title, escrow, closing, and post-closing functions.
  • Ensure transactions are processed accurately, timely, and in compliance with company policies and underwriter requirements.
  • Lead, coach, and support employees to promote a positive and productive work environment.
  • Develop and implement operational procedures and best practices to improve efficiency and service quality.
  • Monitor workflows, staffing needs, and productivity levels.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and industry regulations.
  • Assist with budgeting, expense management, and operational planning.
  • Review operational reports and key performance indicators to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, lenders, real estate professionals, attorneys, and underwriters.
  • Address and resolve escalated customer service issues.
  • Support business growth initiatives and help identify opportunities to expand services and market presence.
  • Assist with technology implementation and process improvement efforts.
