Title: MES Software Engineer - Remote (2 Openings)
Location: Remote, East Coast or Central US time
Duration: 4+ Months with possibility of extension, based on demand
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8 AM - 5 PM, no OT anticipated
Travel: 25% travel possible, based on project need

Description:
The MES Software Engineer / Technical Lead role CORNIwill be responsible for working with business leaders, users, and IT resources to define, develop, implement, and support standardized Siemens Opcenter (formerly Camstar) MES solutions across a global environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Establish best practices and develop client's architecture for manufacturing systems.
  • Design, implement, and support manufacturing systems in accordance with standard client IT practices.
  • Demonstrate strong technical understanding and hands-on experience with technologies such as .NET, AJAX, T-SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and SQL Server BI components.
  • Engage with internal and external customers to analyze requirements from both a business and systems perspective by interpreting business goals and objectives and translating them into technical solutions.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of ERP, MES, shop floor controls, and how they integrate to provide a complete plant solution.
  • Ensure development work is completed on schedule and that impacts to manufacturing systems are thoroughly documented and communicated while serving as the technical lead on global projects.

Required Skills
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Systems Management, IT, or a related field.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry best practices in application development.
  • 7+ years of experience using object-oriented programming languages such as .NET and C#.
  • Experience working with IT systems in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of source code management systems such as Git, TFVC, and SVN.
  • In-depth knowledge of relational databases.
  • Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle, Test-Driven Development, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery.

Desired Skills
  • Understanding of Manufacturing Execution Systems, specifically Siemens Opcenter modeling and Designer.
  • Proven track record of implementing IT solutions that meet business demands and are technically sound.
  • Understanding of JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and the current Angular framework.

  • Strong communication, presentation, organizational, facilitation, and negotiation skills, including the ability to "translate" between business and technology needs.
