Job description

We are seeking an experienced Exploration Manager to lead exploration activities supporting a large-scale gold and silver mining operation in Nevada. This role is responsible for managing near-mine and regional exploration programs, overseeing target generation and project development, and leading a high-performing technical team focused on resource growth and discovery.

Nevada-based candidates are preferred; however, qualified candidates throughout the United States will be considered. Candidates should be comfortable working in remote locations and have demonstrated success operating in remote mining and exploration environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess exploration potential, define targets, and develop and manage exploration programs.
  • Lead target generation, assessment, and project pipeline management activities.
  • Design, evaluate, plan, and prioritize exploration targets at various stages of advancement.
  • Contribute to drill planning for resource discovery, resource growth, and program optimization.
  • Coordinate and sequence exploration activities including geological, geochemical, geophysical, and drilling programs.
  • Ensure effective utilization of exploration data to support geological interpretation and decision-making.
  • Implement and oversee QA/QC programs and procedures across all exploration activities.
  • Review QA/QC data and ensure any issues are identified and addressed promptly.
  • Mentor, develop, and strengthen exploration team capabilities.
  • Perform and support geological and structural modeling as required.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of exploration experience with Carlin-type, epithermal gold-silver, and similar deposit styles.
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in exploration management within the mining industry.
  • Experience with both near-mine and regional exploration programs.
  • Experience advancing both surface and underground projects.
  • Strong understanding of QA/QC principles, implementation, and data evaluation.
  • Proficiency with exploration and mining software applications.
  • GIS and 3D modeling experience preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and team-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Geosciences or a related field; field camp experience required.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to work in remote mining and exploration environments.
