About this role:

As a Thrombosis Physician, you will work with a team of healthcare professionals committed to providing quality care and excellent patient experience. In this role you will join a collaborative group of internal medicine boarded physicians supporting a high-performing, academically engaged thrombosis service combining clinical excellence, guideline development, and impactful research. You will join a collaborative team of nationally recognized leaders in venous thromboembolism (VTE), including:

  • Leaders in pragmatic trials and implementation science
  • Co-Chairs of the CHEST VTE guidelines
  • Guideline experts involved in ACC/AHA PE guideline development and ISTH/ ASH Guideline development

Together, we are advancing VTE care through clinical innovation, research, and guideline development. This position offers a balanced mix of:

  • Outpatient thrombosis clinic (Edwards Internal Medicine Clinic)
  • Inpatient consultation service
  • Teaching across Intermountain and University of Utah programs
  • Research and scholarly opportunities

Schedule: Clinic + consult service + research time, with shared call

What you’ll bring:

  • MD or DO degree from a fully accredited medical or osteopathic school of medicine
  • Residency training Internal Medicine
  • Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine
    • Interest in thrombosis, anticoagulation, and VTE care
    • Commitment to teaching, collaboration, and clinical excellence
    • Interest in research or quality improvement
  • Active, unobstructed Utah medical license, or the ability to obtain one
  • Full prescriptive authority and an active DEA, or the ability to obtain one
  • Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health’s credentialing process
  • Candidates requiring Visa sponsorship will be reviewed on an individual basis
