What is a remote business?

Remote business jobs are roles within the business sector that can be performed from any location outside of a traditional office, typically using internet-based tools and communication platforms. These jobs include positions in management, administration, marketing, sales, consulting, finance, and project coordination, among others. Working remotely in a business role allows professionals to collaborate with teams and clients worldwide while offering flexibility and the possibility of a better work-life balance.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive in remote business roles?

To thrive as a Remote Business Analyst, you need strong analytical abilities, business process knowledge, and a relevant degree in business, finance, or information systems. Familiarity with data analysis tools (like Excel, Tableau), project management software, and sometimes certifications such as CBAP or PMI-PBA are commonly required. Excellent communication, self-motivation, and time management skills help you collaborate effectively and maintain productivity in a remote environment. These skills ensure accurate insights, successful project outcomes, and efficient teamwork without in-person supervision.

Professionals in remote business roles often face challenges such as communication barriers, feelings of isolation, and difficulties in time management. To address these, it's important to establish clear communication channels, proactively schedule regular check-ins with colleagues, and set structured daily routines. Utilizing collaboration tools and participating in virtual team-building activities can help bridge the gap and foster a sense of connection. Being proactive in seeking feedback and clarifying expectations with managers also helps ensure alignment and productivity in a remote setting.

About Torus
Torus is headquartered in Utah and is expanding manufacturing at our 545,000-square-foot facility in Salt Lake City called GigaOne. We are the world's first mesh energy infrastructure, uniting communities through resilient, sustainable, and intelligent power. We design, engineer, manufacture, install, and support our systems end-to-end, standing behind them throughout their lifecycle. • Demonstrated excellence in creating documentation, SOPs, or process guides for business systems.
  • Experience developing and delivering user training or leading system adoption initiatives.
  • Strong attention to detail with a process-oriented mindset and commitment to data quality.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts for business users.
  • Self-directed problem-solver who can work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Experience
  • NetSuite SuiteFoundation, Administrator, or similar certification.
  • Background in manufacturing, supply chain, or inventory-heavy business environments.
