A Remote Building Performance Analyst evaluates and optimizes the energy efficiency and overall performance of buildings using digital tools and remote monitoring technologies. They analyze data from building systems, identify areas for improvement, and recommend solutions to reduce energy costs and environmental impact. STRENGTH IS OUR LEGACY.ย It's our past and our promise for the future. Because we don't just repair and inspect structures. We restore integrity, ensure safety, and build resilient communities.

Ray Engineering is at its best when every member of our team feels respected, included, and empoweredโ€”when everyone can show up as themselves and do their best work every day. We are a dynamic structural remediation firm specializing in restoring and strengthening structures, ensuring safety, and building resilient communities. Our projects are a testament to our dedication to quality, innovation, and integrity. Join us and be a part of a team that makes a tangible difference in the world around us.

About the Role
Ray Engineering is seeking a Senior Building Consultant to provide technical expertise in building envelope assessments, forensic investigations, restoration consulting, and rehabilitation projects for commercial, residential, and multi-family properties. This role is approximately 30% field work and 70% technical analysis, report writing, and project management. We are open to hybrid or remote candidates who can travel to central/west Florida for site inspections, client meetings, and occasional in-office collaboration. The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge of building envelope systems with excellent report-writing skills and the ability to independently manage projects, mentor junior staff, and maintain client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform building envelope condition assessments, forensic investigations, and failure analyses on existing structures.
  • Evaluate and diagnose deficiencies in roofing, waterproofing, exterior wall systems, glazing, cladding, air barriers, insulation, and related building envelope components.
  • Develop repair, restoration, maintenance, and rehabilitation recommendations for existing buildings.
  • Support new construction projects through design review, constructability review, and third-party peer review services.
  • Conduct field investigations, site assessments, and observations to evaluate building performance and identify sources of distress or failure.
  • Prepare technical reports, repair specifications, scopes of work, bid documents, and construction administration documentation.
  • Research building histories and apply current and historical building code requirements.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining quality, budgets, schedules, and client expectations.
  • Coordinate with property owners, community associations, developers, architects, contractors, and internal project teams.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships through responsive communication and high-quality service.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Assist with proposal preparation, project scoping, budgeting, and business development effort.ย
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in building envelope consulting, building science, forensic investigations, restoration consulting, construction documentation, and/or project management.
  • Active Professional Engineer(PE) or Registered Architect (RA) license in good standing preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial and residential building envelope systems, materials, and construction practices.
  • Ability to evaluate building performance and develop practical repair and restoration solutions.
  • Excellent technical writing, communication, and report preparation skills.
  • Experience managing projects, budgets, schedules, and client relationships.
  • Ability to mentor junior staff and provide technical leadership.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout Florida and surrounding regions as needed.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.
What We Offer
  • Comprehensive Health Benefits:ย We offer comprehensive coverage for employeeโ€™s medical needs. Your well-being is a top priority.

  • Career Growth:ย Leadership opportunities in a rapidly expanding company with a clear runway for advancement.

  • Dynamic Work Environment:ย Diverse projects with real-world impact across multiple markets.

  • Inclusive Culture:ย A collaborative and supportive workplace where every perspective is valued.

  • Commitment to Excellence:ย A focus on quality, innovation, and integrity in everything we do.
    ย

Join us at Ray Engineering and step into a role where you can lead, mentor, and make your markโ€”not just on projects, but on an entire region.
