What is a Remote Building Code Inspector?

A Remote Building Code Inspector is a professional who evaluates construction projects for compliance with building codes and regulations, but performs inspections virtually rather than in person. Using digital tools such as video calls, photographs, and specialized software, they review construction progress and completed work from a remote location. This approach allows for greater flexibility and efficiency, especially for projects in remote or hard-to-access areas. Remote inspectors typically communicate with onsite personnel to obtain necessary documentation and visuals to ensure all codes and safety standards are met.

These skills and qualities ensure thorough, accurate inspections and compliance, even when working off-site, to maintain safety and regulatory standards.

How does a Remote Building Code Inspector effectively communicate and collaborate with on-site teams and clients?

Remote Building Code Inspectors rely heavily on digital tools to conduct inspections and maintain clear communication with on-site project managers, contractors, and property owners.
