Job description

Orchestrate agents. Ship AI. Build things that matter.
About Contextual
Contextual partners with clients to deliver cutting-edge AI solutions that transform tasks, processes and operations with a focus on scale and ROI. By leveraging the Contextual.io platform, we help organizations streamline and automate workflows, drive organization and operational efficiencies, and unlock new revenue opportunities.
The Opportunity
At Contextual, we don't hand clients a platform and wish them luck. We build with them-designing and deploying AI-powered workflows that automate real processes, integrate live systems, and generate measurable ROI.
The way software gets built has fundamentally shifted. The engineers who thrive today aren't the ones who write the most code-they're the ones who know how to orchestrate AI agents, direct tools with precision, and ship production-quality solutions fast. We're hiring for that person.
You'll take real client business challenges and turn them into deployed, working AI solutions on the Contextual.io platform. You'll use every tool at your disposal-AI coding agents, low-code builders, LLM APIs, agentic frameworks-to build faster and better than a traditional engineering team could. Then you'll do it again.
What You'll Build
  • AI-powered workflows that automate back-office processes, decision flows, and multi-step operations for real enterprise clients inside our low-code platform.
  • Custom integrations connecting Contextual.io to CRMs, ERPs, and enterprise APIs-making data flow where it needs to go
  • Agentic pipelines and automation logic using AI coding agents, platform scripting, and API orchestration
  • Scalable, documented solutions clients can own and operate after handoff
  • Proofs of concept that turn vague business needs into shippable, demonstrable AI solutions-quickly

Who You Are
  • You treat AI agents as part of your build team, knowing when to direct them and when to step in. And you bring that same judgment to your human teammates.
  • You've shipped AI workflows, automation solutions, or integrated applications end-to-end-not just contributed to them
  • You're excited about operating in a rapidly changing tool landscape and are able to pick up new tools in days, not months. Your instinct is to experiment first and read documentation second.
  • You think in outcomes: not "what does this code do" but "what problem does this solve and does it actually work"
  • You're comfortable with ambiguity-you can take a vague business need and turn it into a concrete technical design, then execute on it
  • You're genuinely curious - about how our clients operate, how we do things here, and about what's possible with tools that didn't exist six months ago.
  • You communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders without losing the technical thread
  • You understand what "production-ready" means: reliable, observable, handoff-ready, not just demo-ready
  • US-based; we are not able to sponsor employment visas at this time

Required Experience
  • 5+ years in application development, automation, or solution delivery-or a shorter track record with demonstrably high impact
  • Hands-on experience building and deploying solutions on at least one major low-code/no-code platform (Power Platform, N8n, OutSystems, Retool, Bubble, or similar)
  • Active, daily use of AI coding agents (Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, or similar)-this isn't a nice-to-have, it's how we build
  • Demonstrated ability to orchestrate multi-step AI workflows, not just call a single API
  • Ability to take user stories and business requirements and translate them directly into working solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to decompose tasks from requirements and assist junior engineers with those tasks.
  • Experience with REST APIs and integrating applications with external enterprise systems
  • Enough scripting fluency (JavaScript, Python, or similar) to extend what agents produce and debug what they get wrong

Bonus Points
  • You've worked directly with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) and integrated AI models into production workflows
  • Experience with AI agent frameworks: LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, or similar
  • You understand prompt engineering-you know how to get reliable, structured output from language models at scale
  • Experience with RAG pipelines, multi-agent orchestration, or agentic system design patterns
  • Familiarity with enterprise systems: CRM, ERP, data warehouses
  • You've worked in fast-moving services or SaaS environments where shipping on time matters

What We Offer
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Unlimited vacation, where we encourage you to take it
  • Flexible working hours and remote work options.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and development.
  • Collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • The chance to work on innovative projects with a talented team.
