Key Responsibilities

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients’ trauma history and identify personalized treatment needs.
  • Developing and implementing tailored treatment plans that promote trauma recovery and build resilience based on evidence-based methodologies.
  • Utilizing specialized therapeutic interventions such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) in individual and group settings.
  • Leading group therapy sessions focused on coping strategies and healing, fostering a community of support among participants.
  • Collaborating with psychiatrists and other health professionals to ensure coordinated care and integrated treatment approaches for our patients.
  • Providing crisis intervention during trauma-related emergencies, ensuring immediate support and guidance.
  • Educating patients and their families about trauma responses and coping mechanisms, empowering them with knowledge and resources.
  • Maintaining thorough, accurate, and confidential patient documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Participating actively in team consultations and meetings to refine trauma-informed care practices and remain abreast of the latest research and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in New York.
  • A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience working in mental health, particularly with trauma-informed care.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and effective treatment modalities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills that reflect a compassionate, non-judgmental approach to therapy.
  • The ability to maintain composure in high-stress situations and adapt to changing patient needs.
