Remote Bridge Design information

What is remote bridge design?

Remote bridge design refers to the process of planning, designing, and analyzing bridges from a location outside of the actual project site, often using digital tools and collaboration software. Engineers and designers work remotely to create detailed plans, perform structural analysis, and coordinate with teams using cloud-based platforms and CAD software. This approach allows for flexibility, access to a wider pool of talent, and efficient collaboration regardless of geographical location. Remote bridge design is increasingly common as technology enables effective communication and project management from anywhere in the world.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote bridge design engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Bridge Design Engineer, you need a solid background in civil or structural engineering, a professional engineering (PE) license, and expertise in bridge design principles. Familiarity with industry-standard design software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, and structural analysis tools like SAP2000 or MIDAS Civil is essential. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills help facilitate collaboration and project delivery in a remote environment. These competencies ensure that bridge designs meet safety standards, are efficiently executed, and are successfully coordinated with distributed teams.

What are some common challenges faced by remote bridge design engineers, and how can they be addressed?

Remote bridge design engineers often encounter challenges related to effective communication and collaboration due to the lack of face-to-face interaction with multidisciplinary teams. Managing project files, ensuring design consistency, and coordinating revisions can also be more complex when working remotely. To overcome these challenges, it’s important to utilize collaborative project management tools, maintain regular video meetings, and establish clear documentation protocols. Building strong relationships with team members and proactively addressing any technical or logistical issues can greatly enhance workflow and project success.

What is the difference between Remote Bridge Design vs Remote Structural Engineer?

Job description

Join the company that's building the telemetry infrastructure for the AI era. At Cribl, we partner with IT and Security teams at many of the world's biggest enterprises, including half of the Fortune 100, to bridge the gap between AI ambition and infrastructure reality. As the AI Platform for Telemetry, we give customers the choice, control, and flexibility to manage and analyze telemetry for both humans and agents, so they can build what's next.
We're one of the fastest-growing private companies and a leading player in a massive, fast-moving market. With a global workforce, we're remote-first and grounded in a simple idea: software is a people business. Cribl is the place where curious, collaborative people can do their best work, grow fast, and bring their full selves to the herd.
This is a remote role based in the DC/VA/MD area,
Why You'll Love This Role
Cribl is investing in its Federal Systems Integrator ecosystem, and this role is its technical foundation. As the dedicated Partner Solutions Engineer for our Federal SI and consulting partners, you will make the market's leading integrators technically self-sufficient on the Cribl portfolio - and work alongside their architects to design Cribl into large Federal programs before they are awarded. You will build the reference architectures, enablement programs, and technical champion network that let partners position, demo, deploy, and support Cribl at program scale. Success in this role is measured in partner capability and programs won, not a personal sales quota.
As An Active Member Of Our Team, You Will...
  • Serve as the dedicated technical advisor to Cribl's Federal Systems Integrator (SI) and consulting partners, from initial technical briefings through hands-on architecture workshops.
  • Partner with SI capture and solution-architecture teams to position Cribl within proposed program architectures during capture, proposal, and recompete phases
  • Build and maintain reusable reference architectures, quick-start guides, and solution kits for use cases such as SOC modernization and SIEM migration, Zero Trust data pipelines, compliance logging, cloud migration, and observability modernization.
  • Design and deliver recurring partner enablement programs-including training, bootcamps, whiteboarding sessions, and certification pathways-across the Cribl portfolio (Stream, Edge, Search, and Lake).
  • Deliver executive technical briefings to partner CTOs, chief architects, and practice leads, while developing technical champions within each strategic partner.
  • Provide post-award technical support to partner delivery teams through office hours, architecture reviews, and sizing and deployment guidance.
  • Team with Cribl account SEs, sales, and partner managers on SI-led opportunities, maintaining shared account plans and regular technical interlocks
  • Represent partner needs internally by bringing field insights and feedback to Cribl's product and go-to-market teams.
  • We are a remote-first company and work happens across many time-zones - you may be required to occasionally perform duties outside your standard working hours

If You've Got It - We Want It
  • 5+ years in pre-sales solutions engineering / solutions architecture for data, security, or observability platforms
  • Hands-on depth in data pipeline architecture and at least one major SIEM/analytics ecosystem, with the ability to author reference architectures others deploy
  • Working knowledge of the U.S. Federal market, including FedRAMP, FISMA, and government cloud deployment models.
  • Experience working with partners, channel organizations, or systems integrators as a primary technical audience, or equivalent experience within a Federal SI.
  • A portfolio of reusable technical content you personally created, such as reference architectures, implementation guides, labs, or training materials.
  • Strong executive- and practitioner-level communication skills, with the ability to lead audiences ranging from CTO briefings to hands-on engineering workshops.
  • Experience working effectively in a remote environment.
  • Regular presence at partner sites across the National Capital Region
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25-35%.

Preferred qualifications
  • Experience supporting Federal capture, proposal, or recompete cycles
  • Previous partner/alliance solutions engineering experience at an enterprise software vendor.
  • Broad observability and data-engineering expertise alongside strong security experience.
  • Relevant cloud, security, or vendor certifications.
  • Active or prior U.S. security clearance is a plus, but not required.
  • Established relationships across the Federal SI ecosystem.
  • Residence in the DC/VA/MD area.
