Retail Operations & Brand Standards Specialist
Location: Remote, Chicago Area
Travel: Local market travel required within assigned territory

World Fuel partners with independent fuel retailers and convenience store operators across North America to help them strengthen their businesses, improve operations, and enhance the customer experience.
We're looking for a Retail Operations & Brand Standards Specialist to serve as a trusted advisor to our retail partners, helping them improve store performance, strengthen brand execution, implement marketing programs, and maximize growth opportunities.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, influencing business owners, working independently, and helping customers succeed.
What You'll Do
Support Retail Success
  • Build strong relationships with retail fuel and convenience store operators throughout your assigned territory.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor helping customers improve store appearance, operations, and overall retail execution.
  • Conduct site visits and provide recommendations that improve customer experience and operational performance.
  • Identify opportunities to help retailers increase sales, profitability, and customer loyalty.

Drive Brand Standards & Retail Execution
  • Conduct branded image reviews and site assessments.
  • Ensure retail locations maintain brand standards and compliance requirements.
  • Support implementation of merchandising, marketing, and promotional initiatives.
  • Help retailers improve image evaluation scores and overall site presentation.
  • Identify areas for improvement and develop action plans with retailers.

Support Marketing & Growth Initiatives
  • Promote supplier marketing programs, loyalty initiatives, and credit card programs.
  • Encourage retailer participation in available promotional opportunities.
  • Assist retailers in preparing for future growth and operational enhancements.
  • Provide guidance on retail best practices and market trends.

Partner with Internal Teams
  • Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Marketing, and supplier partners.
  • Track retailer progress against established objectives and action plans.
  • Maintain accurate territory records and reporting.
  • Ensure deadlines and project objectives are achieved.

Facility & Compliance Support
  • Conduct periodic site reviews and facility assessments.
  • Assist retailers in understanding brand requirements and operating standards.
  • Support compliance with applicable company, supplier, and regulatory guidelines.

What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of experience in sales, retail operations, customer service, account management, or territory support.
  • Strong relationship-building and influencing skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

  • Results-oriented mindset with a passion for helping customers succeed.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout an assigned territory.
