Remote Brain Computer Interface information

What is a remote brain computer interface?

Remote Brain Computer Interface (BCI) jobs involve designing, developing, testing, or supporting technologies that enable direct communication between the brain and external devices, all while working from a remote location. These roles can include research scientists, software engineers, data analysts, or user interface designers specializing in BCI applications. Professionals in this field collaborate virtually to advance neurotechnology, contribute to assistive devices, or improve human-computer interaction. Remote BCI jobs often require expertise in neuroscience, computer science, machine learning, and signal processing.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote brain computer interface engineer?

To thrive as a Remote Brain Computer Interface Engineer, you need expertise in neuroscience, signal processing, software development, and ideally an advanced degree in biomedical engineering, computer science, or a related field. Familiarity with programming languages (such as Python or MATLAB), BCI platforms (like OpenBCI), and experience with EEG/EMG systems are typically required. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective remote communication abilities set candidates apart. These skills ensure the development and maintenance of robust BCI systems, successful remote collaboration, and the advancement of innovative neurotechnology solutions.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working in remote brain computer interface roles?

Professionals in remote BCI positions often encounter challenges such as maintaining effective collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams, managing sensitive data securely, and troubleshooting specialized hardware or software remotely. Since BCI projects typically involve neuroscientists, engineers, and software developers, clear communication and regular virtual meetings are essential for synchronizing progress. Additionally, remote work can make testing and debugging BCI devices more complex, requiring creative solutions and sometimes coordination with onsite staff or labs.

Location: Huntsville, Alabama

Job Type: Full Time

About EO Solutions
EO Solutions is a rapidly growing aerospace and defense company focused on advancing capabilities in Space Domain Awareness and Directed Energy Systems. Our teams work across Hawaii, Nevada, Alabama, and remote locations to solve critical national security challenges with innovative, mission-focused technologies.

Position Overview

EO Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer with deep expertise in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Systems Architecture Development to support the development and delivery of High Energy Laser Weapon Systems. This role will focus on the decomposition, modeling, development, integration, and lifecycle management of complex prototype weapon systems that are being transitioned to production. The ideal candidate will be comfortable creating a tailored systems engineering capability to meet the needs of a hardware focused design team while implementing modern MBSE methodologies. A strong systems-thinking mindset with the ability to decompose complex systems into modular, traceable architectures and establish a scalable MBSE capability for EO Solutions is a must. This individual will lead the development of internal MBSE processes, modeling standards, digital engineering workflows, and SysML-based architecture products delivered to government customers. In addition to program execution responsibilities, this position will play a key role in developing and institutionalizing EO Solutions’ broader Systems Engineering capability, including processes, standards, engineering methodologies, digital engineering infrastructure, and long-term technical strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead systems engineering efforts across the full system lifecycle including requirements analysis, architecture development, integration, verification, and validation

  • Develop and institutionalize a scalable Systems Engineering capability across EO Solutions

  • Develop internal MBSE and Digital Engineering workflows, toolchains, and governance strategies

  • Create reusable architecture frameworks and modeling approaches to support multiple programs and customers

  • Perform functional and physical decomposition of complex aerospace and defense systems

  • Develop and maintain SysML-based system models to support architecture development, requirements traceability, and system analysis

  • Create and establish a custom MBSE capability within EO Solutions including modeling standards, workflows, reusable frameworks, and digital engineering processes

  • Develop scalable modeling approaches to support program execution and government deliverables

  • Generate and maintain system architectures, operational views, interface definitions, and mission threads

  • Develop and maintain Interface Control Documents (ICDs), system specifications, and technical baselines

  • Ensure traceability between requirements, functions, interfaces, behaviors, and system implementations

  • Support digital engineering initiatives and model-centric system development approaches

  • Collaborate with software, optical, electrical, mechanical, and program teams to ensure system-level integration and consistency

  • Support requirements management, trade studies, and architecture analysis activities

  • Develop and maintain verification and validation strategies aligned with customer requirements

  • Mentor junior systems engineers and assist in developing internal systems engineering best practices

  • Contribute to proposal development, technical planning, and strategic architecture initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline

  • 8+ years of systems engineering experience supporting complex technical programs

  • Strong experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies and SysML

  • Demonstrated experience decomposing complex systems into modular architectures and functional elements

  • Experience developing and maintaining SysML models for government or defense programs

  • Experience creating architecture frameworks, modeling standards, and systems engineering processes

  • Strong understanding of requirements development, allocation, and traceability

  • Experience with interface definition and Interface Control Document (ICD) development

  • Experience supporting system integration, verification, and validation activities

  • Familiarity with Digital Engineering environments and model-centric development workflows

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate across technical and non-technical audiences

  • Ability to work independently and lead technical efforts across multidisciplinary teams

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Systems Engineering or related discipline

  • Active Secret or Top Secret clearance

  • Experience supporting Directed Energy, Space Domain Awareness, or advanced defense systems

  • Experience with Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, Rhapsody, or similar MBSE tools

  • Familiarity with DoDAF, UAF, MOSA, SOSA, FACE, or OMS architectures

  • Familiarity with DEWS MOSA

  • Experience supporting Digital Engineering initiatives within the DoD

  • Familiarity with Agile systems engineering and DevSecOps environments

  • Experience leading technical architecture teams or engineering working groups
