Job Description:

The job is responsible for delivering technical training programs, coaching repair center staff, especially technicians, and working to ensure that technicians have the knowledge and skills to repair vehicles properly and safely.  The technical trainer also works with regional and market leadership to bring forward issues that may improve the technical capabilities and skills within the markets.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.

  • Delivers technical training, courses in the assigned area of responsibility. Completes and retains all training documentation.  Follows all company policies with regard to expense control and expense documentation and properly maintains company assets, including trainer’s tools and the company

  • Visits repair centers to assess technical capabilities, including individual technician’s knowledge, skills and abilities, through observation, experience, and dialogue

  • Provides coaching to technicians regarding the application of technical skills and building efficiencies in the repair process. Works with technicians, repair center general managers, and market leaders to proactively recommend classes, that can help technicians improve their knowledge and skills

  • Monitor and coach for full compliance on our QC processes.

  • Assesses the capabilities of the repair centers in the assigned area of responsibility to deliver complete and safe repairs by maintaining the proper repair tools and equipment.  Provides documented feedback to the location, market and regional leadership when tools and equipment need to be upgraded or repaired.

  • Assists in the development of technician trainees by working at a fixed training center and/or working with technician trainees

  • Develops and improves technical training clinics to teach repair skills.  Works with the other technical trainers to ensure that a consistent message is being delivered across the network of repair.

  • Keeps current on the latest advancements in repair processes and techniques

  • Performs program assessments, training, coaching

Education and/or Experience Required

  • At least  5- 7 years experience industry experience

  • At least 2 years experience delivering training is preferred.

  • Completed course of studies at a post-secondary school preferred; must have a high school diploma or GED.

  • Applicable industry certifications

  • Attends required continuing professional education.

Required Skills/Abilities 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • High level of independently planning and organizing work with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to communicate, motivate and cooperate with all levels of staff

  • Knowledge of computer applications, including Internet, Google platform, and Microsoft Office applications.

Other Requirements

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the company’s auto liability insurance policies. 

  • Must be able to travel up to 30%-70% including some overnight travel.

Compensation Details:

$85,000-$95,000

Compensation is commensurate with skill, education and experience. 

Supplemental Pay:
