Editors work with authors to correct grammar, enhance clarity, check for consistency, and ensure the manuscript meets publishing standards. Communication is usually conducted via email, video calls, or project management tools, making it convenient for both editors and authors regardless of their physical locations.

Attention to detail, strong time management, and effective communication are standout soft skills for collaborating with authors and meeting deadlines. These competencies ensure high-quality manuscripts, maintain author-editor trust, and facilitate efficient remote workflow.
