  • Drive the ECP to S/4 migration and Payroll Simplification initiatives as subject matter expert, collaborating with IT, Finance, and cross-functional teams to modernize systems and reduce operational complexity
  • Develop and maintain standardized payroll procedures and compliance frameworks for each country, staying current with evolving State, Federal, local, and international payroll regulations and reporting requirements
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing payroll team through cross-training programs, knowledge transfer initiatives, and continuous professional development to reduce legacy system dependency and strengthen team capability
  • Oversee payroll operations including quarterly reconciliations, involuntary deductions processing, benefits and tax deductions, wage verifications, and ad-hoc reporting; resolve discrepancies between HRIS and accounting systems to ensure data accuracy
  • Manage critical payroll administration functions including Blue Marble system administration, ECP issue resolution and testing, annual increases and bonuses processing, year-end reviews, PTO liability reporting, and workers' compensation management for Australia
  • Participate in strategic initiatives and steering committees (Bi-Weekly Steer-Co, Cost Center Project, SSO Blue Marble, Tax Cleanup, M&A integrations) to drive continuous improvement, streamline processes, and enhance operational efficiency across the global payroll function
  • Foster strong cross-functional collaboration within TELUS Agriculture while actively partnering with the global community to align payroll operations with broader organizational goals.

    What You Bring

    • 3-7 years of progressive payroll experience, including multi-country/international payroll operations and compliance management
    • SAP SuccessFactors expertise with demonstrated ability to manage payroll systems, reporting, and data integration. Experience with ECP a must.
    • Deep knowledge of State, Federal, local, and international payroll laws, regulations, tax withholding requirements, and reporting obligations across multiple jurisdictions
    • Proven team leadership and people development experience, with ability to mentor, coach, and build high-performing teams in a global environment
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to identify process improvements, resolve complex payroll discrepancies, and drive operational efficiency
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with ability to collaborate effectively across HR, Finance, Legal, and IT departments globally
    • Proficiency with payroll systems (ADP SmartCompliance experience a plus) and advanced Excel/reporting capabilities

    Great-to-Haves

    • Fluency in Spanish/Portuguese, particularly for managing payroll operations in Mexico and Brazil
    • Proficiency in Blue Marble system administration and familiarity with banking platforms (e.g., Bank of Montreal, HSBC).
    • Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA implementation projects and system migration best practices
