Their responsibilities typically include researching topics, writing blog posts, editing content, and sometimes promoting articles on social media or through email newsletters. Remote bloggers often collaborate with editors or clients via online communication tools. This role offers flexibility in terms of work hours and location, making it popular among freelancers and digital nomads.

What does a remote blogger do?

As a remote blogger, your job is to write content intended for a website or other online destination, such as an app. Remote bloggers are usually freelance writers, and you may write helpful articles, review products in a blog, or interact with people on social media. Many remote bloggers also provide other content-based services, such as search engine optimization or content management. This job involves a significant amount of research and the ability to customize your writing style based on the client's needs. For example, some websites want a friendly and informal tone, while others adhere to professional style guides.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote blogger, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Blogger, you need excellent writing skills, strong research abilities, and a solid grasp of grammar and SEO best practices, often supported by a portfolio of published work. Familiarity with content management systems like WordPress, SEO tools such as SEMrush or Yoast, and basic image editing software is typically required. These skills ensure high-quality, discoverable blog posts that effectively engage audiences and support organizational or personal branding goals.

How do remote bloggers typically collaborate with editors and other team members while working from different locations?

Remote bloggers usually rely on digital communication tools such as email, instant messaging apps, and project management platforms like Trello or Asana to stay connected with editors and other team members. Regular virtual meetings and feedback sessions are common to ensure alignment on content strategy, deadlines, and editorial standards. Bloggers are often expected to be proactive in communicating progress or challenges and to adapt to different workflows depending on the publication. This collaborative approach helps maintain content quality and fosters a sense of teamwork despite the physical distance.

SENIOR COPYWRITER, MEMBER ACTIVATION
Lantern helps employers reduce medical spend by getting members to the right specialty care center of excellence for plannable surgery, cancer support, and specialty infusions. The Member Activation team owns the outreach and engagement engine that turns eligible members into first calls and cases, the leading indicator for procedure volume and revenue. This role is a direct bet on one of our biggest 2027 priorities: scaling campaign execution with agents, not headcount.
We are hiring a short-form specialist, not a long-form writer. This is not a blogger, an articles writer, or someone whose background is internal communications or PR. This is someone who has written email, SMS, direct mail, and digital ad copy that had to convert, who can point to the metric it moved, and who wants to spend their time testing, measuring, and rebuilding rather than writing one perfect piece and moving on.
Location: Dallas, TX, New York, NY - Hybrid schedule (3x in office per week)
Responsibilities:
  • Write short-form, conversion-focused copy across direct mailers, email, text, display ads, outbound calling scripts, and digital surfaces (landing pages, app, portal).
  • Design and run structured tests (A/B and multivariate) on messaging, offers, and creative, with a clear hypothesis and a defined metric for every test.
  • Build and maintain agentic workflows comprised of insights-driven value proposition messaging that let a small team produce and personalize campaign copy at scale, with a human checkpoint built into the process rather than bolted on after.
  • Partner with Product, Analytics & Member Experience to turn proven copy patterns into repeatable, configurable templates.
  • Use performance data and member feedback loops to continuously retire what's not working and scale what is.
  • Monitor campaign performance dashboards and channel-level conversion metrics to decide what gets tested next.
  • Maintain a shared style, voice, and compliance checklist so AI-generated variants stay on-brand and audit-ready.

Requirements:
  • A portfolio of short-form, consumer-facing campaign copy (email, text, direct mail, landing pages, or paid ads) with stated results, not just creative samples.
  • Direct experience designing and reading A/B or multivariate tests, including ones that lost, and the ability to explain what you did with the result.
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools to build a repeatable production or QA workflow, not just to draft copy faster.
  • Comfort working from data and being wrong in public - you'd rather ship a testable hypothesis than defend a favorite line.
  • Nice to have: experience writing for healthcare, insurance, benefits, or another regulated consumer category.
  • Nice to have: familiarity with Salesforce Marketing Cloud or comparable ESPs/CDPs.
  • Nice to have: experience writing for contact-center scripts.

Strong Candidates will:
  • Have written short-form, conversion-focused copy (email, SMS, direct mail, digital ads) that had to convert - not long-form articles, blog posts, or internal communications.
  • Come from a direct-response or growth marketing background, not corporate communications or PR.
  • Want to spend their time testing, measuring, and rebuilding rather than writing one perfect piece and moving on.
  • Rather ship a testable hypothesis than defend a favorite line - comfortable being wrong in public and letting the data pick the winner.

Benefits
  • Medical Insurance
  • Dental Insurance
  • Vision Insurance
  • Short & Long Term Disability
  • Life Insurance
  • 401k with company match
  • Paid Time Off
  • Paid Parental Leave

Compensation: Base salary range: $95k-$130k plus variable compensation, depending on relevant experience, location, and qualifications.
About You:
  • You use LOGIC in your decision making and understand that progress is critical to making change. You focus on the execution of your content while balancing a fast-paced environment and you take the time to celebrate both the small & big wins.
  • INCLUSION is a core tenant of your personal beliefs. A diverse and inclusive environment is incredibly important to you. You understand and desire to be a part of a diverse team with different experiences and perspectives & you cherish the differences in each individual that you interact with.
  • You have the GRIT, drive and ambition to tackle big problems. Big problems require big ideas and a team that supports new ideas.
  • You care deeply for your customers are driven to keep HUMANITY in all decisions. Your customers aren't just the individuals using your product. They are the driving factor in your motivation to make a change.
  • Integrity guides you in life. Focusing on the TRUTH vs. giving people the answers they want to hear.
  • You thrive in a Team Environment. Collaboration is key in innovation and creating change.

These pillars of LIGHT are a reminder to our team that we are making a difference by providing guidance and support in navigating the often complex and confusing landscape of healthcare. We hope that through this LIGHT, individuals can find their way to the best care, resources, and support they need to get back to life.
If this sounds like you, we would love to connect to speak further about career opportunities at Lantern.
Please apply to our role & someone from our Talent Acquisition Team will reach out to help you navigate our interview process.
