About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Operations Manager to join our team. This role involves overseeing and optimizing business processes, driving operational excellence, and supporting strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and analytical skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Please note that the requirements of this role are beyond the 9am - 6pm scope. It is expected that all managers are available to the organization when needed.

Requirements

You Will:

Operational Management & Process Improvement

  • Oversee day-to-day business operations to ensure smooth and efficient processes across departments.
  • Identify, design, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality throughout the organization.
  • Ensure business operations comply with industry regulations and company policies, maintaining high standards of quality and integrity.

Strategic Planning & Data-Driven Decision Making

  • Contribute to the development and execution of strategic plans that support business growth and operational excellence.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data to identify trends and insights that inform business decisions and drive operational improvements.

Project & Budget Management

  • Lead and manage project management activities, including planning, execution, and monitoring of projects to ensure timely and successful completion.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities for the operations department.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Market Awareness

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, sales, marketing, and product development, to support business operations and align on strategic goals.
  • Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, the competitive landscape, and emerging technologies relevant to the healthtech sector.

Continuous Improvement & Documentation

  • Lead initiatives that promote continuous improvement and operational excellence within the organization.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of processes, procedures, and analysis to ensure transparency and knowledge sharing within the team.

Talent Management

  • Collaborate with the Talent team to actively engage in the hiring and recruitment process, including but not limited to participating in interviews.
  • Leverage industry networks and expertise to identify and attract top talent that aligns with the company's objectives and values.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members within your department and across diverse functions.
  • Play an integral role in shaping and reinforcing the overall company culture, promoting values that enhance teamwork, collaboration, and employee engagement.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Must be available for on-call duty during peak periods, providing support outside of regular working hours as needed to ensure the timely resolution of critical issues.
  • Availability to work occasional weekends and overnight hours as needed.
  • Although we work in a remote-first environment, all roles require in-person attendance at our headquarters approximately 2 times per year (in addition to other travel requirements for this specific role, if applicable). These visits are essential for team collaboration, strategic planning, and fostering deeper connections across the organization. Travel arrangements will be supported to ensure a seamless experience.
  • Must reside in the Eastern or Central time zone. Eastern Time working hours required.
  • Travel up to 5% required.
You Have

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Information Technology, or a related field. Degree in STEM is strongly preferred.
  • A Master’s degree is preferred.

Experience

  • 5-7 years of experience in business operations, project management, or a related role within the healthcare or technology sectors, with at least 2 years in a managerial position.
  • Experience within a STEM field is required.
  • Excel experience required. Some SQL experience preferred.

Certifications

  • Must complete Six Sigma Green Belt Certification within 6 months of hire, if not already certified.

Knowledge

  • In-depth understanding of healthcare industry standards and regulations.
  • Experience working within the healthcare or technology industry required.

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau).

Softheon offers every full-time employee a comprehensive compensation and benefits package including:

  • For this position we offer a base pay of $90,000-$110,000, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation, and benefits. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as candidate location, qualifications, skill level, and competencies.
