Job description

Job Description:

As a Facility Data Analyst, you will work to support the development and deployment of cutting-edge fault detection and diagnostic services and will have a continual impact on a wide portfolio of Harris customers. You will work with customers to develop both templated and custom data visualizations to help them further their business objectives.

You will maintain and grow our library of fault detection and diagnostic routines to identify mechanical malfunctions, control systems problems, and opportunities for energy savings. You will analyze operational data from real buildings to understand causeandeffect between control strategies, mechanical performance, and energy use, and translate those findings into actionable recommendations. You will also integrate internal and external programs and platforms and develop new software and process tools as required to automate and grow our capabilities.

This is a hybrid-remote position that can be based out of the Harris corporate headquarters in St. Paul, MN, or one of ourregional offices.

What we're looking for in you

Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science, statistics, mechanical engineering, construction science, or building sciences, with experience (or relevant coursework) in computer programming or data analysis.

Interest in physical systems and how they behave in the real world. This role is well-suited for candidates who enjoy working with data that describes machines, sensors, and environments, and who are curious about why things move, fail, drift, or consume energy-whether that experience comes from coursework, labs, hobbies, or personal projects.

Relevant experience may include (professional or personal):

  • Working with electronics, sensors, or instrumentation (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, PLCs, etc.)

  • Robotics clubs, maker spaces, FIRST Robotics, or similar hands-on teams

  • Coursework or projects involving mechanical systems, thermodynamics, controls, or circuits

  • Building, modifying, or troubleshooting physical systems (HVAC, vehicles, automation, lab equipment)

  • Analyzing time-series data from physical processes (temperature, flow, pressure, vibration)
