Job description

The Field Engineer will support oncology clinical trials to be conducted at various clinical sites by overseeing the installation, maintenance, and functioning of combination product medical devices. This position is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of the equipment and providing guidance to the clinical site staff on its correct usage. With a clear understanding of the devices utilized in clinical trials, the Field Engineer offers timely support to troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise, ensuring seamless trial operations. II.
Responsibilities:
  • Train relevant site personnel on the operation of site equipment and devices provided by Syncromune to be used in the clinical trial.
  • Work closely with clinical staff to identify and resolve encountered issues, offering effective solutions to maintain seamless trial operations.
  • Perform functional tests to diagnose equipment faults, determining whether onsite repair or supplier intervention is necessary.
  • Efficiently manage field activities and inventory, implementing engineering solutions on site, as required.
  • Proactively address device malfunctions or crises as they occur, overseeing repairs and testing processes to restore equipment to optimal functionality. If equipment needs to be returned to the supplier, work closely with suppliers to track repair progress and timeline to have equipment returned to the clinical site.
  • Perform installation of new equipment, as necessary.
  • Work through Biomedical Engineering departments at clinical sites to conduct inspections and testing of equipment for safety compliance.
  • Maintain rigorous oversight of on-site equipment maintenance, adhering to prescribed schedules and protocols.
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive site visit reports and other necessary documentation in accordance with management requirements.

Requirements:
  • A degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Biomedical Engineering or similar experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years as a field engineer supporting the use of medical equipment/devices in clinical trials preferred.
  • Similar device experience will be considered.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • An understanding of working with Biomedical Engineering departments in hospitals or healthcare settings.
  • Competence in interacting with healthcare professionals within clinical environments.
  • Demonstrated capability to analyze situations and deliver effective problemsolving strategies.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Keen attention to detail.

Working Conditions: This is a remote role. The work environment will be within the region or country where the clinical work is being performed. Much of the work will be performed at the clinical sites.
