Position Overview

West Hills Behavioral Health Center is actively seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team in a fully remote capacity. In this full-time role, you will provide essential mental health services to a diverse clientele, focusing on promoting holistic recovery and well-being. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations, including preliminary interviews, to identify client needs and document progress from initial consultation through to discharge.
  • Develop personalized treatment and recovery plans tailored to each clientโ€™s unique circumstances, ensuring engagements with individuals, couples, families, and groups.
  • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, employing a variety of therapeutic modalities to foster engagement and promote healing.
  • Monitor client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary, while documenting all interactions and feedback in the EHR system.
  • Collaborate with fellow counselors, medical staff, and other mental health specialists to enhance intervention plans and conduct case reviews.
  • Provide follow-up care for clients transitioning from hospitalization, ensuring comprehensive aftercare plans are in place.
  • Identify potential barriers to recovery and proactively implement strategies to mitigate risks and promote wellness.
  • Support family members and primary caregivers in understanding and managing mental health challenges associated with their loved ones.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will be working with a diverse range of clients, addressing various mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use disorders, and behavioral challenges. Our clientele consists of individuals from different demographic backgrounds, requiring an adaptable and culturally competent approach to care.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW in the state of Illinois.
  • Successful completion and passing scores on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record systems, specifically AVATAR, for effective record-keeping and client management.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a demonstrated ability to document case histories effectively.
  • Empathetic interpersonal skills with a compassionate attitude toward those experiencing mental health challenges.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience in a mental health counseling role, particularly in a community health setting or group practice.
  • Familiarity with the best practices established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
  • Knowledge of the impact of various pharmacological treatments prescribed by healthcare providers and how they affect mental health treatment.
  • Experience addressing underlying physical and emotional health conditions, as well as addiction disorders.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range between USD 80,000 and 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This role also includes a generous sign-on bonus.
