Position Description

Essence Behavioral Health Services is seeking both full time (15-30 clients per week) or part time (5-15 clients per week) therapists to begin providing individual therapy to adults and children as soon as possible.  All positions are either 1099 Independent Contractor status or W2 with benefits. Positions can be virtual, or hybrid.

PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU DO NOT MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS, WE ARE UNABLE TO RESPOND TO YOUR APPLICATION AT THIS TIME.

- REQUIRED: MUST have an independent license to practice in Virginia by start date. This is NOT a residency (training positions open in late spring).

- REQUIRED: A strong background in working with diverse populations, multicultural issues, and a social justice lens. Specifically, we require all of our staff to be able to speak to the oppressive structure and social inequities that impact our clients, as well as have an ability to explore the way the therapists' own identities (especially privileges) show up in clinical work.

-REQUIRED:  The candidate must be able to integrate cognitive (CBT, DBT, TFCBT, etc) and behavioral modalities, our therapists must be able to operate from a neuroscience informed perspective.

Key Responsibilities:  individual therapy.

Additional Opportunities if desired: Couples therapy, family therapy, workshops and seminars, peer consultation

Education and License Requirements

Must have a bachelors, doctorate or masters in a clinical psychology, counseling, social work, or closely related psychology field from an accredited institution. Must be licensed or working on license in the state of Virginia.
