What is a remote beauty job?

Remote beauty jobs provide clients with support and solutions in a specific area of personal care. As a skincare specialist, for example, you consult with clients regarding skin-related issues and evaluate skin conditions using an app or computer webcam. Your duties also involve recommending products and makeup to enhance appearance, as well as providing instructions on proper product usage for desired results. There are also positions in haircare, where you recommend hairstyles, products, and solutions for common hair issues. A remote beauty job is typically a consultant role rather than a medical position, and beauty consultants may refer their clients to other professionals to treat any conditions they detect. Along with evaluating skin or hair issues and providing suggestions, many remote beauty professionals supplement their business with online sales of cosmetic or hair products.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote beauty consultant, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Beauty Consultant, you need a solid understanding of skincare, cosmetics, and beauty techniques, often demonstrated by formal training or certification in cosmetology or esthetics. Familiarity with virtual consultation platforms, social media, and e-commerce systems is crucial for engaging clients and managing online sales. Excellent communication, active listening, and customer service skills set top consultants apart by building trust and rapport remotely. These skills are vital for effectively advising clients, driving sales, and ensuring a positive, professional online beauty experience.

What are the common challenges faced by beauty professionals working remotely, and how can they be addressed?

Remote beauty professionals, such as virtual makeup artists or skincare consultants, often face challenges like building client trust without in-person interaction and demonstrating techniques effectively via video. To overcome these obstacles, it’s essential to have a reliable digital setup, including good lighting and high-quality cameras, and to develop strong communication skills to provide clear instructions. Additionally, using secure platforms for virtual consultations and leveraging social media can help build credibility and attract clients. Regularly updating skills with the latest beauty trends and digital tools also ensures success in the remote environment.

Job description

About Kitsch
Kitsch is a certified female and minority-owned global beauty brand. Our products are in 32,000+ retailers across 92 countries. We make everyday essentials that make you feel exceptional.
The Role
We ship thousands of orders every day through Shopify, TikTok Shop, and Faire. We need someone who keeps that flow moving, no matter what.
This is a fully remote role, and you're our eyes on ShipHero, our warehouse management system. While our floor team in Los Angeles picks, packs, and ships, you watch the system behind them: every order in a fulfillable state, every queue moving, every problem caught before it becomes one. You treat every stuck order like it's your job to fix it.
Location: Remote, Philippines or Latin America
Workplace Type: Remote
Compensation: To be discussed
What You'll Do
Keep orders flowing
  • Own the daily health of our online orders, from the moment they land in ShipHero to the moment they ship
  • Watch how we're pacing against the day's orders and flag it early if we start falling behind
  • Keep an eye on our oldest, most urgent orders and make sure they ship first
  • Make sure every order is ready to fulfill: correctly statused, allocated, and visible to the right team

Keep the systems honest
  • Monitor ShipHero daily: order statuses, queues, batches, and the settings that keep our workflows enforced
  • Troubleshoot the real issue, not just the symptom: fix automation rules, reprocess orders, track down why an order landed in the wrong place
  • Catch problems before they happen: watch for the patterns that come before a stall, like orders missing shipping methods, allocation failures, or inventory that needs to move
  • Pull reports from ShipHero to answer real questions: what's aging, what's blocked, what shipped

Speak up and help the team improve
  • Escalate fast and to the right person when something needs hands on the floor, like low inventory or product that needs to move into pickable locations
  • Suggest process changes that would make us more efficient. You see the whole system all day; tell us what to fix

What You Bring
Must-haves
  • Hands-on ShipHero experience required
  • 2-4 years in e-commerce fulfillment, WMS administration, or 3PL operations
  • A systems thinker: when one order breaks, you check what else broke the same way
  • Calm under pressure. Peak days and product launches energize you, they don't rattle you
  • A natural fixer. You ask "how can I help?" before anyone asks you to
  • Strong spoken and written English; you communicate clearly and proactively - including live, when something urgent needs to be escalated - with a team you don't share a room with
  • Comfortable working hours that overlap with our Los Angeles warehouse day

Nice-to-haves
  • Experience with Shopify, TikTok Shop, or Faire, and how their orders flow into a WMS
  • Experience working with or inside a 3PL
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
