Job description

Purpose

The Production Assistant plays an essential role in the administrative processes that ensures the successful implementation of the overall vision of the company. This entry-level role will have varying office hours. Routine office duties include assisting with answering telephones, filing and distributing paperwork; data entry, research, arranging meals, processing receipts, photocopying, general office administration and employee equipment deliveries. The Production Assistant is responsible for ensuring equipment arrives on time to and from remote employees and/or freelancer residences via their personal vehicle. They report directly to the Office Manager but touches every department, so a presentable appearance as well as professional demeanor is required. Those that excel in this field possess an entrepreneurial spirit, keen sense of organization and attention to detail. Our company prides itself on promoting within and this role is an excellent entry point for those interested in a career path in the post production industry. This person must work in our office everyday (Monday-Friday). 

Location: Culver City, CA 

Job Responsibilities

  • Organize company lunches & dinners
  • Client services, including onsite visitor coordination
  • Maintain presence in reception area and greet visitors and employees in a courteous and professional manner; attend to questions and requests appropriately
  • Answer multi-line telephone system, determine caller's needs and route to appropriate department or individual and/or take messages when appropriate
  • Maintain security protocols of building at all times for both staff and guests
  • Intake of all office mail and proper distribution when applicable
  • Facilitate the processing and distribution of parking tags and parking badges
  • Perform opening procedures: turning on lights, preparing coffee, organizing office to ensure all areas are presentable and clean
  • Ensure cleanliness throughout all spaces; ensure all furniture appears tidy to maintain a presentable appearance for clients and visitors by adhering to Facilities health & safety procedures, rules and regulations
  • Monitor and maintain kitchen, bathroom, and office supplies. Order as needed
  • Communicate with facility services and/or landlord on facility needs and follow up on any delays
  • Deliveries and pickups as required (Must have valid driver's license and vehicle, mileage reimbursed)
  • Assist in as needed projects across departments
  • Provide support to the Assistant Editorial department in completion of dialogue breakdowns within Adobe Premiere program

Required Skills

  • Must have an interest in a career in Creative and Post Production
  • Must have a valid driver's license AND a vehicle (mileage is reimbursed)
  • Strong proficiency in G-suite
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Impeccable organizational, attention to detail and time-management abilities
  • Must be highly motivated, proactive, organized, and a team plans
  • Able to maintain a pleasant and calm demeanor in the face of stressful situations
  • Available to work a flexible schedule including potential overtime with little to no notice
  • Previous runner/PA experience preferred
  • College degree in Creative Field or Film Editing/Production a plus
  • Knowledge of Adobe Premiere a plus
  • Must be able to lift/push/pull to 40 lbs on an occasional basis
  • Frequently use hands to manipulate equipment or media
  • Frequently typing on a keyboard
  • Frequently sitting and performing desk work
  • Seeing and reading without difficulty (with or without personal corrective aides)
