UW MEDICINE IT SERVICES has an outstanding job opportunity for an Epic Research Application Analyst 3.
WORK SCHEDULE
  • 100% FTE - 40 hours per week
  • Day Shift - UW MEDICINE ITS SERVICES CORE HOURS ARE 08:00 - 17:00 (PST), Monday-Friday
  • Required participation in team on call schedule

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
UW Medicine IT Services (ITS) is a shared services organization that supports all of UW Medicine. UW Medicine is comprised of Harborview Medical Center (HMC), UW Medical Center-Montlake Campus (UWMC-Montlake), UW Medical Center-Northwest Campus (UWMC-NW), UW Medicine Primary Care (UWMPC), UW Physicians (UWP), UW School of Medicine (SOM), and Airlift Northwest (ALNW). ITS is responsible for the ongoing support and maintenance of the infrastructure and applications which support all these institutions, along with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the UW Medicine mission.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Interacting with customers and performing detailed, advanced level requirements analysis
  • Analyzing advanced level work process flows and technical solutions to bridge the gap between current and future states
  • Designing, building, testing, and implementing advanced level enhancements to meet requirements
  • Collaborating and coordinating with other application teams (clinical and non-clinical) on research related build
  • Supporting advanced level research needs and cross-over with Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS)
  • Building, developing, and supporting advanced level interfaces/bridges/billing
  • Providing advanced level production support and ongoing system troubleshooting, maintenance, monitoring, and training
  • Participating in advanced level projects, processes, and documentation to support customer needs

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent combination of education/experience
  • Priority will be given to PharmD candidates
  • Priority will be given to candidates who hold current Epic certification in Willow
  • Currently holds two or more current Epic certifications (or equivalent with other EHR systems) OR has obtained Epic proficiency (or equivalent with other EHR systems) and has consistently demonstrated technical competencies for 4+ years in relevant/functional business area
  • Currently holds or is willing to complete necessary certifications (determined at time of hire) within first 6 months of employment. Certifications may include, but are not limited to, Core Clinical, Research (clinical or billing) Beacon, Hospital Billing/Professional Billing, Clinical Apps, and Healthy Planet

4+ years' experience must include the following:
  • 2+ year(s) of experience providing EHR systems application maintenance/support
  • 2+ year(s) of experience with application/system configuration and implementation of clinical information systems (and/or healthcare applications)
  • Advanced experience with EHR systems application maintenance/support
  • Advanced experience with application/system configuration and implementation of clinical information systems (and/or healthcare applications)
  • Advanced experience with clinical research - particularly utilizing Epic and/or OnCore CTMS
  • Advanced experience participating in defining customer requirements, translating them into design specifications
  • Advanced experience assisting team members and sharing knowledge, with exposure to mentoring others
  • Advanced experience with formal project management methods
  • Advanced experience significantly contributing to multidisciplinary work groups in an application development or support setting
  • Advanced experience independently outlining work plans and meeting deadlines
  • Advanced experience executing test plans and test cases
