Appraisal Report Typist / Data Entry Specialist

Location: Remote / Hybrid Cockeysville, MD

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Appraisal Report Typist / Data Entry Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will assist certified real estate appraisers by typing appraisal reports, transferring property information into valuation software, compiling MLS/tax records, and preparing client deliverables.

If you have fast typing skills, strong attention to detail, and experience with real estate data or appraisal software (such as TOTAL by a la mode), we would love to connect!

Key Responsibilities

  • Type and format real estate appraisal reports from rough drafts, voice recordings, or appraiser notes.
  • Enter property specifications, comparable sale details, tax data, and subject photos into industry software (e.g., TOTAL/a la mode, SFREP, or ACI).
  • Pull subject property tax records, deeds, zoning maps, and MLS history for upcoming assignments.
  • Proofread completed appraisal forms for accuracy, formatting, and missing required disclosures before delivery.
  • Log incoming orders and assist with client communication regarding status updates.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Typing Speed: Minimum 50+ WPM with high accuracy.
  • Software Knowledge: Experience with appraisal software (a la mode / ACI, proficiency in Microsoft Office/Excel required.
  • Real Estate Background: Basic familiarity with real estate terminology, MLS systems, or public record databases is a strong plus.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to double-check numbers, addresses, and parcel IDs accurately.
  • Communication: Clear written and verbal communication skills.
