Job description

Director Power Generation Development
About WattBridge
The global energy landscape is rapidly changing, and we're here to accelerate that change. From the decommissioning of high-carbon power assets, accelerated expansion of renewable energy resources as baseload power, to the advent of the prosumer. The volatility on today's energy grid has never been greater. WattBridge was conceived by power industry experts to enable the sustained integration of highly efficient, reduced carbon dispatchable power generation assets on our national energy grid.
Our Footprint
We are primed for the Energy Transition with permanent service locations in Missouri, Texas, and Argentina. Our world-class Missouri headquarters is purpose-built to meet peaking-power needs. It sits on 90 acres in Sedalia and features more than 900,000 sq. ft of facilities and equipment, including the only independent Level-IV aeroderivative depot in North America and a hydrogen-ready string-test facility that enables full-speed, full-load testing. Our Houston, Texas, office is a strategic satellite positioned near our own peaking-power installations.
Our Philosophy
We take care of our people and strive to make a positive difference for the world. We offer competitive pay, excellent benefits that include Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life/Disability Insurance at minimal cost to the employee, 10 paid holidays, paid time off and a 401K plan. If you are looking for a rewarding career and possess the specialized knowledge and quality-oriented problem-solving skills, we encourage you to apply today.
Position Summary
PROENERGY is seeking a dynamic, highly strategic, and results-driven Director of Power Generation Origination to drive the next phase of our utility-scale growth. Reporting directly to the VP of Commercial Operations, this senior-level origination role is responsible for identifying, developing, and closing complex, high-value commercial transactions across North America, with a future mandate for global expansion.
As the primary growth engine for our turnkey energy solutions, you will market PROENERGY's world-class PE6000 aeroderivative gas turbines and packages, comprehensive Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) service solutions, and long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). While closing individual transactions is critical, your ultimate success will be defined by your ability to cultivate deep, long-term strategic relationships. You will spearhead multi-year, multi-gigawatt partnerships with hyperscale data center developers, major utilities, and large independent power producers (IPPs), positioning PROENERGY as their premier immediate and long-term power reliability partner.
Reports to: Vice President Commercial Operations
Work Location: Houston, TX or Remote United States
Position Responsibilities
Strategic Origination and Deal Closure
  • Drive Revenue Growth: Originate, structure, and close complex commercial transactions for gas turbines, fast-track EPC services, and structured PPAs.
  • Target High-Growth Sectors: Focus intensely on the rapidly expanding power demands of the digital infrastructure sector (hyperscale and colocation data centers) and major electric utilities facing grid-reliability challenges in particular ISO regions.
  • Secure Multi-GW Partnerships: Move beyond transactional sales to architect large-scale, multi-year framework agreements that secure long-term pipeline and funnel visibility for PROENERGY.

Market Strategy and Expansion
  • Establish Territory Strategy: Define and execute the origination strategy for the North American market in the near term.
  • Lead Global Scalability: Identify, evaluate, and prioritize key international markets for expansion. Develop the market-entry frameworks and commercial strategies required to scale PROENERGY's footprint globally.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor regulatory shifts, grid capacity constraints (e.g., PJM and MISO), and technological trends to proactively position PROENERGY's aeroderivative solutions against competitors.

Relationships and Funnel Management
  • Build C-Suite Alliances: Develop and maintain trusted, long-term relationships with key decision-makers, executives, and stakeholders within utility and data center organizations.
  • Collaborate Internally: Work hand-in-hand with the VP of Commercial Operations, engineering, project execution, and finance teams to ensure proposed solutions are technically robust, risk-mitigated, and commercially viable.
  • Funnel Health: Maintain a highly accurate, visible, and growing multi-year deal pipeline, providing regular strategic updates to executive leadership.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related technical discipline. An MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10-12+ years of experience in power generation business development, energy origination, or utility-scale project development.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and executive-level presentation skills. Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally
  • Demonstrated success originating and closing large-scale transactions ($50M+ deal size) involving heavy power infrastructure, turnkey EPC services, or complex energy structured products (PPAs).
  • Holds an established, active network of executive-level contacts within major North American utilities, IPPs, and the data center infrastructure prospective clients.
  • Deep understanding of power generation equipment (specifically gas turbines), grid interconnection processes, power market dynamics, etc. Strong familiarity with project finance, risk allocation, and contract structuring.
  • Proven ability to look beyond the immediate sales cycle to build holistic, multi-year regional or global growth strategies.
  • Ability to travel (up to 40-50%) across North America to meet with clients with future international travel as global strategy dictates.
  • Specific experience originating, pricing, structuring, and analyzing physical and financial PPA's across multiple power markets, customers and deal structure types
  • Must be fluent in English, with strong speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension skills.
  • Successful candidate will need to satisfactorily complete pre-employment drug screen and background check
  • US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa.

It is PROENERGY's policy to provide equal opportunity in employment to all its employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, age, disability, national origin, marital status, ancestry, medical condition, military status, or any other characteristic protected by State or Federal law.
