Backend Python Engineer for API Services
We are seeking a Backend Developer with a strong Data Engineering focus to build secure APIs, backend services, and enterprise data access solutions in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role focuses on developing Python-based backend systems and enabling scalable access to internal enterprise data platforms.
You will design and maintain backend services, REST APIs, and secure enterprise integrations within a cloud-based data environment. Initial priorities include building secure REST APIs and MCP integrations that expose internal enterprise data systems for broader platform use. Over time, the role may expand into ETL workflows, orchestration pipelines, data transformations, and cloud data platform initiatives using tools such as Airflow, DBT, and Snowflake. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams to build scalable backend systems, support data access initiatives, and contribute to evolving AI-enabled engineering workflows.
Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of backend software engineering experience
  • Strong Python development experience
  • Experience building REST APIs and backend services
  • Experience with FastAPI or similar backend frameworks
  • Strong understanding of backend architecture and scalable system design
  • Experience working with secure enterprise systems and data access
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently within a small, fast-moving engineering team
  • Comfortable learning new technologies and adapting to evolving requirements


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with GraphQL, Airflow, DBT, or Snowflake
  • Experience with ETL and data transformation workflows
  • Exposure to AI/LLM engineering initiatives or MCP integrations
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows
  • Experience working in fast-paced or startup environments


Education & Experience

  • Senior-level backend engineering experience strongly preferred
