Job description

About the Role

Do you love learning how technology works and then figuring out the best way to explain its value to others?

As a Technical Product Intern, you'll get hands-on experience with Red Hat technologies while learning how technical products are positioned, demonstrated, and brought to life for customers and users.

You'll work alongside Technical Marketing Managers, Product Managers, Engineers, and other technical teams to understand our products and turn complex capabilities into clear, compelling technical experiences. Depending on your team, you might build a product demo, create a hands-on lab, develop a tutorial, explore a customer use case, analyze product or content data, or help tell the technical story behind a new capability.

Note: This role's internal title at Red Hat is Technical Marketing Manager (TMM).

What You'll Do

  • Own a meaningful project end to end, real responsibility from day one

  • Create hands-on technical materials such as demos, tutorials, blogs, sample workflows, dashboards, or presentations that help people understand and use Red Hat products

  • Work with product management, engineering, and technical teams to align content with what users actually need

  • Use AI tools to work smarter and faster and explore where AI can improve how we create and deliver content

Every Team Is a Little Different

The work you do will depend on the team you're placed with. Examples of what that might look like:

  • Create a beginner-friendly Linux lab or how-to guide for administrators

  • Build an automation demo that shows how teams simplify repetitive IT tasks

  • Explain a Kubernetes workflow or create container-focused content for developers

  • Develop a tutorial for AI developer tools or hands-on examples for builders

  • Analyze product usage or content performance data

What You'll Learn

During your internship, you'll gain experience in:

  • How enterprise open source products are built, explained, and adopted by technical users

  • How to turn complex technical concepts into clear, compelling stories

  • What it looks like to work in a global, cross-functional technology organization

  • Hands-on experience with Red Hat products and open source communities

What We're Looking For (Required)

  • Currently pursuing a degree or experience in a technical, product, design, communications, or related field, such as computer science, engineering, information systems, HCI, technical communication, data analytics, or similar

  • Genuine curiosity about technology: You like understanding how things work and explaining it to others

  • Strong written and verbal communication:You can make something technical easier to understand

  • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of your work

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with Linux, containers (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes), or cloud platforms

  • Experience with AI tools, open source projects, or developer communities

  • Prior internship, co-op, or project work where you created technical content, demos, or tutorials

Red Hat will not be providing visa sponsorship for this position. Therefore, in order to be considered for this position, you must have the ability to work without a need for current or future visa sponsorship.
