Job description

Rapidly growing East Coast CRO drug testing research organization is looking for a Business Development Manager (5 to 10 years' experience) to advance their already very successful R&D services. The company prides itself on maintaining a family atmosphere and providing excellent working conditions, a competitive compensation structure, and benefit coverage. Compensation based on experience. Position is remote, but you must be based in California. Also involves travel. Relocation across America covered. Reports to a VP.
NB - This position focuses on selling services, not products.
Salary commensurate with level of experience. Not a role for new grads.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Business development, meeting set targets within this industry.
  • Expanding the client base as well as managing and growing existing accounts.
  • Leveraging personal industry contacts to enable business, new leads, and growth.
  • Working together with the scientific team to determine the appropriateness of new opportunities.
  • Give presentations to clients on site or at trade shows..
  • Selling services, not products.
  • Pertinent sales activities.

  • Over 5 years' experience in business development position within healthcare / biotechnology, medical device, or pharmaceutical. CRO strongly preferred.
  • Senior (over 10 years) preferred but less experience considered.
  • Knowledge of pharmacology, toxicology, ADME, PK/PD, testing of vaccines, biologics, small molecules, in vivo and invitro testing nice to have.
  • Proven track record of increasing sales and growing customer base.
  • Pertinent contact list attractive.
  • Located in California at this time or willing to relocate.
  • Up to 50% overnight travel required. You would require an appropriate passport, allowing you to travel outside the USA.
  • Driver's license.
  • Strong, clear English communication skills.
  • Visas not covered.
