Remote B1 B2 Visa information

Can you get a job with a B1 B2 visa?

A B1 B2 visa is a temporary visitor visa that generally does not permit employment or paid work in the United States. It is intended for activities such as tourism, business meetings, or medical treatment, and working with this visa can lead to legal penalties or visa violations.

What are Remote B1 B2 Visa jobs?

Remote B1 B2 Visa jobs refer to employment opportunities that allow individuals holding a B1/B2 visitor visa for the United States to work remotely, usually for companies based outside the U.S. The B1/B2 visa is primarily intended for business (B1) and tourism (B2) visits, not for employment within the U.S. It's important to note that working for a U.S. company or earning income from U.S. sources while physically present in the U.S. on a B1/B2 visa is generally prohibited. However, remote work for foreign employers, conducted from outside the U.S., is usually allowed. Always consult immigration guidelines or an attorney to ensure compliance.

Can I work remotely while on a tourist visa?

Remote B1/B2 visa holders are generally not permitted to work remotely for a foreign employer while in the country on a tourist visa, as these visas are intended for tourism, visiting, or short-term business activities that do not involve employment. Engaging in remote work may violate visa terms and could lead to legal consequences or visa denial. It is advisable to consult immigration authorities or an attorney for specific guidance related to remote work and visa status.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a B1/B2 Visa Specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a B1/B2 Visa Specialist, you need comprehensive knowledge of U.S. immigration laws, visa application procedures, and documentation requirements, often supported by a relevant degree or experience in immigration services. Familiarity with case management systems, government portals like the U.S. Department of State's CEAC, and digital communication tools is essential. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal communication help build client trust and ensure applications are accurate and timely. These skills are crucial for successfully guiding clients through complex visa processes while maintaining compliance and high service standards.

What is the difference between Remote B1 B2 Visa vs Remote Business Consultant?

AspectRemote B1 B2 VisaRemote Business Consultant
CredentialsTourist/business visa, no specific professional credentials requiredRelevant industry experience, often certifications in business or management
Work EnvironmentTemporary visits, limited to meetings or negotiations, not for ongoing workRemote work, client meetings, strategic planning from abroad
Employer & Industry UsageUsed for short-term visits to the US, not for employmentEngaged by companies for advisory roles, project-based work

The main difference is that a Remote B1 B2 Visa allows for short-term visits for meetings or negotiations, but not for ongoing employment, whereas a Remote Business Consultant works remotely providing ongoing strategic advice, often requiring relevant experience and certifications. The B1 B2 visa is suitable for temporary travel, while the consultant role involves continuous remote work with clients.

Can you work remotely on a B2 visa?

A B2 visa is a tourist visa that generally does not permit employment or remote work for pay. Engaging in work activities while on a B2 visa can violate visa terms and lead to legal issues; employment should be conducted only under appropriate work visas such as the B1 or H-1B. Remote work for a foreign employer without proper authorization is typically not allowed on a B2 visa.

How can I make 2000 a week working from home?

A remote B1 B2 visa holder can potentially earn $2000 weekly by engaging in high-demand freelance work, remote consulting, or specialized online services that match their skills. Achieving this income typically requires building a strong client base, offering valuable expertise, and working full-time hours, often utilizing platforms like Upwork or Fiverr. It is important to ensure that the work complies with visa restrictions and employment regulations.

What are some common challenges faced by Remote B1/B2 Visa consultants when assisting clients with visa applications?

Remote B1/B2 Visa consultants often encounter challenges such as navigating the complexities of varying consular requirements across different US embassies, staying updated on frequent changes in immigration policies, and effectively communicating with clients across time zones. Additionally, ensuring that clients provide accurate and complete documentation can be difficult when working remotely. Despite these challenges, consultants typically use digital tools, clear communication protocols, and regular training to maintain high-quality support for their clients.

Job description

Vestas Eolica, S.A.U.  > Service > Global Service Operations > Remote Operations Center EMEA

As a Remote Operations Engineer at the Madrid ROC, you will be part of the strategic core ensuring the global availability of our wind turbine fleet. This high-level technical position focuses on real-time monitoring, advanced diagnostics, and remote incident resolution, directly affecting performance optimization and the reduction of the cost of energy.

What You Will Do

  • As part of our 24/7 Monitoring Team, your role is built upon three strategic pillars:
  • The Technical "Problem Solver": You will use advanced SCADA and SAP tools to diagnose why a multi-million euro machine has stopped. Your role is to determine with precision whether you can fix the issue with a single click from Madrid or if a technician must be dispatched to the field
  • The Effective Communicator: You will manage communications with customers and field technicians during urgent incidents. You demonstrate the ability to translate complex technical problems into simple, professional solutions via both phone and email
  • Operational Resilience: In a 24/7 environment, your responsibility is paramount. You will maintain high standards and attention to detail-especially during night shifts-remaining consistently meticulous with data and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

What we are looking for

  • At Vestas, demonstrated real-world experience and effective problem-solving count more than formal degrees. We are looking for technicians who know the field and want to take their careers to the next digital level:
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year in the Wind Industry (specifically as a Field Technician or in Control Centers). Direct experience with Vestas Turbines is especially valuable
  • Alternative Experience: In the absence of wind industry experience, at least 3 years of demonstrable experience in complex hydraulic, electrical, or mechanical systems is required
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Energy) or Technical Associate Degree (FP Superior) in Electronics, Automation, Robotics, or Renewables
  • Languages: Intermediate English (B1/B2). You are fluent enough to respond to technical emails and handle emergency calls in an international environment
  • IT Proficient: Proficiency with diagnostic tools; prior use of SCADA and SAP is highly valued
  • Availability: Ability to work in a 24/7 rotating shift system (including nights and weekends)

What We Offer

Unique Hybrid Flexibility: Office-based in Madrid during standard shifts, with the opportunity to work from home during night shifts and weekends

Stability: A Madrid-based role with travel requirements only on a very occasional basis

Career Growth: An opportunity to shift from field-based work to directing operational strategy at a global control center

Vestas Benefits: Salary commensurate with experience, health insurance, life insurance, Paid Time Off (PTO), and meal allowance (cheque gourmet)

Performance Bonus: An annual 5% bonus tied to meeting Vestas' corporate objectives

At Vestas, we believe that diversity makes us stronger. If you have a disability and are interested in this opportunity, we would be happy to get to know you and adapt the selection process to your needs.

Our commitment to a fair hiring.

At Vestas, we evaluate all candidates solely based on their professional experience, education, and relevant skills. To support a fair recruitment process, we kindly ask that you remove any photos, dates of birth or graduation, gender pronouns, marital status, or other personal information not relevant to the role before submitting your CV/resume. Your CV/resume should focus on your professional and educational background, along with the necessary contact details (email and phone number). We train our hiring teams in inclusive evaluation and regularly review process outcomes to ensure fairness.
