You will be instrumental in providing support that enhances the emotional and psychological well-being of our residents, ensuring they receive personalized and empathetic care.

About the Organization

At Azure Counseling Services, our mission is to provide high-quality, accessible mental health counseling to seniors, helping them navigate age-related challenges with dignity and care. We specialize in addressing a range of issues, including grief, transitions, and mental health conditions common to older adults. Our team is passionate about fostering a supportive environment where mental health professionals can collaborate and thrive as they work to improve the lives of our clients.

Work Environment

This role is designed for the modern mental health professional, with a convenient telehealth setting that allows for flexible work arrangements. Our remote structure encourages work-life balance, giving you the freedom to manage your schedule while committing to our clients from the comfort of your own home. You'll utilize advanced telehealth technologies to conduct assessments and counseling sessions effectively, integrating evidence-based practices into your approach.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elderly clients, determining their specific emotional and psychological needs.
  • Provide both individual and group counseling tailored to address issues correlated with aging, such as depression and anxiety related to life transitions.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to create and implement comprehensive care plans that align with each clientโ€™s unique situation.
  • Educate family members and caregivers on enhancing the emotional well-being of elderly individuals, ensuring they are equipped to support their loved ones effectively.
  • Facilitate grief and loss counseling sessions, guiding clients and families through the complexities associated with end-of-life stages.
  • Develop and implement cognitive stimulation programs that encourage mental engagement and emotional vitality among elderly clients.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on seniors experiencing a wide range of mental health challenges, particularly those connected with aging. You will work with clients facing issues of grief, dementia, and the emotional strains resulting from life transitions such as retirement or relocation to assisted living. Your role is crucial in improving their quality of life and helping them find resilience through therapeutic support.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential in the state of Florida.
  • A minimum of 4 years of clinical experience providing geriatric counseling, with a focus on mental health support tailored for older adults.
Preferred Experience
  • Specialization or additional training in geriatric mental health and age-related issues.
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing and executing evidence-based interventions to enhance mental well-being in elderly populations.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities to connect effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • An understanding of ethical and legal standards surrounding mental health counseling in geriatric populations.
Compensation and Benefits

The role offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 65,000 to 95,000 annually, complemented by a sign-on bonus to acknowledge your expertise and commitment. Additionally, employees benefit from a range of offerings designed to support their overall well-being, including:

  • An employee assistance program providing confidential support and counseling services.
  • Wellness initiatives to promote and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
  • Flexible scheduling options to maximize work-life balance.
  • Health savings accounts or flexible spending accounts to manage healthcare costs efficiently.
