Azure Cloud Engineer
Location: Arlington, Virginia (Remote)
Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Azure Cloud Engineer to support a large-scale cloud migration and system refresh initiative. This role is integral to designing, building, securing, and supporting Azure infrastructure as workloads are transitioned to the cloud. The position is fully remote and supports a federal environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and configure Azure infrastructure including Virtual Machines, VNETs, NSGs, storage accounts, Azure Load Balancer, and PaaS services.
  • Implement, deploy, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and infrastructure automation practices.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and security using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Azure Security Center, and Application Insights.
  • Troubleshoot Azure infrastructure, networking, and platform issues in a production environment.
  • Support automation and scripting efforts using PowerShell and Bash.
  • Implement cloud security controls, governance policies, and best practices aligned to federal requirements.
  • Collaborate with architects, DevOps, and security teams during the cloud migration lifecycle.
  • Support the deployment and use of STIG-compliant images, ensuring proper application, validation, and compliance during system provisioning.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 3-5+ years of relevant experience. Candidates should have experience supporting or migrating systems to Azure in an enterprise or government environment.
Technical Skills:
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure core services, including compute, storage, networking, and PaaS offerings.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automation.
  • Proficiency with PowerShell and/or Bash scripting.
  • Familiarity with scripting and DevOps pipelines.
  • Knowledge of cloud security, identity management, governance, and monitoring.
  • Basic Windows Server administration skills, including exposure to Active Directory and Entra ID.
  • Introductory experience with RHEL 8 system administration.

Certifications: CompTIA Security+ certification is required.
Additional qualifications include strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a 100% remote setting. Familiarity with 8140 Cyber Security Compliance is also required.
