LMI is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to support a Department of War mission partner on a digital modernization effort. This role sustains and modernizes government-owned business applications built on the Microsoft technology stack, keeping mission-critical .NET applications running reliably while helping re-engineer and migrate them into a secure AWS GovCloud environment. The engineer will work across the full stack, from SQL Server data layers to React front ends, within a DevSecOps pipeline. This is a largely remote position; however, candidates must reside in the vicinity of San Diego, CA to support periodic onsite collaboration.

This position requires an active Secret clearance.

LMI is a new breed of digital solutions provider dedicated to accelerating government impact with innovation and speed. Investing in technology and prototypes ahead of need, LMI brings commercial-grade platforms and mission-ready AI to federal agencies at commercial speed.

Leveraging our mission-ready technology and solutions, proven expertise in federal deployment, and strategic relationships, we enhance outcomes for the government efficiently and effectively. With a focus on agility and collaboration, LMI serves the defense, space, healthcare, and energy sectors-helping agencies navigate complexity and achieve mission success.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain full-stack web applications across the Microsoft .NET stack, including C# with .NET Framework and .NET Core, ASP.NET WebForms and MVC, and IIS.

  • Build and maintain responsive front-end interfaces using JavaScript, React, HTML, and CSS.

  • Develop and integrate data solutions on Microsoft SQL Server, including SSIS packages and SSRS reports, and connect applications to data warehouses and data marts.

  • Modernize legacy Microsoft applications to current frameworks, operating systems, and Agile practices.

  • Operate within a DevSecOps pipeline using Azure DevOps, managing source control, builds, and secure CI/CD workflows.

  • Support the re-engineering and migration of applications into a secure AWS GovCloud environment.

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and manage work through Azure DevOps boards and backlogs.

  • Support sustainment and governance activities, including technical documentation, change and incident management, user resources, and cybersecurity accreditation efforts.

  • Coordinate with government technical leads, platform and security teams, and other developers to deliver secure, reliable solutions.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Active Secret security clearance.
  • Current DoD 8570/8140-compliant baseline certification appropriate for the position, such as CompTIA Security+.
  • Eight or more years of experience in full-stack business systems web software engineering.
  • Five or more years within the past ten years in DevSecOps, including Azure DevOps Services, Azure DevOps Server or Team Foundation Server, and management of modern DevSecOps processes.
  • Five or more years within the past ten years across all of the following: C# and .NET development, JavaScript, MS Visual Studio, SQL, React JS or Angular JS, HTML, CSS, MS ASP.NET, .NET Framework and .NET Core, and MS SQL Server.
  • Willing to work largely remote with periodic onsite collaboration in the vicinity of San Diego, CA.
  • Ability to explain technical issues clearly and work effectively with government civilians, military personnel, contractors, and enterprise support organizations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related discipline.
  • Experience modernizing Microsoft applications to current frameworks.
  • Experience with jQuery, Bootstrap, DevExpress, and Django frameworks.
  • Experience with containerization and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud-native architecture and design.
  • AWS GovCloud experience, or demonstrated readiness to cross-train into AWS as applications migrate.
  • Experience supporting U.S. Special Operations Forces or other Department of War mission partners.

Target Competencies:

  • Full-stack .NET application design and development
  • Front-end engineering with React and modern JavaScript
  • SQL Server data integration and reporting
  • Application modernization and cloud migration
