Job description

Our Client is seeking a hands-on DevOps Implementation Consultant to help establish a practical DevOps foundation for 35 internal .NET applications using Azure DevOps, SonarQube, Azure Key Vault, and Datadog.

This is an implementation-focused contract role. The person in this role will work directly with Client architects and developers to build CI/CD pipelines, define Git and pull request standards, integrate SonarQube, set up Datadog observability, and document the approach so Client can support and expand it after the engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for .NET applications.

Define and apply Git branching, pull request, and branch policy standards in Azure DevOps.

Integrate SonarQube into build and pull request workflows, including baseline quality gates.

Configure secure secrets and environment settings using Azure Key Vault and appropriate access controls.

Set up Datadog dashboards, monitors, APM, and alerting for in-scope applications.

Create reusable templates, documentation, and runbooks for future application onboarding.

Work closely with team members to transfer knowledge through pairing and walkthroughs.

Required Experience

Strong hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, including Repos, Pipelines, branch policies, and multi-environment deployments.

Experience building CI/CD pipelines for .NET applications.

Experience integrating SonarQube with Azure DevOps.

Experience using Datadog for APM, dashboards, monitoring, and alerting.

Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, Bash, or similar tools.

Ability to work directly with development teams and clearly document standards and solutions.

Preferred Experience

Experience working in Azure-centric .NET environments.

Experience creating reusable pipeline templates and onboarding patterns across multiple repositories.

Experience helping teams adopt DevOps practices where automated testing and CI/CD are still maturing.

Experience in utility, energy, or other enterprise environments with governance requirements.
