They typically work remotely, collaborating with teams online to develop cloud-based solutions, automate processes, and ensure scalability and security. Their responsibilities often include writing serverless applications, integrating AWS services like Lambda, S3, and DynamoDB, and optimizing cloud workloads. Proficiency in both Python and AWS is essential for this role.

Job description

We are seeking a Senior Data Integration & API Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines that extract data from APIs, ingest that data into Huntington’s enterprise data lake, and transform it into structured, consumable datasets for analytics and reporting.
This role sits at the intersection of integration architecture, data engineering, and analytics enablement, partnering closely with Data Engineering, Architecture, and business analytics teams to deliver high-quality, governed data assets.

Highest Priority Skills

  • API Integration Experience
    • Strong experience consuming and building integrations with APIs.
    • Genesys API experience would be a major differentiator.
  • Data Engineering / ETL Development
    • Ability to independently architect and build ingestion pipelines.
    • Must require minimal ramp-up or handholding.
  • AWS Experience
    • Experience working in AWS environments is preferred since Huntington's Data Lake resides in AWS.
  • Python & SQL
    • Core development skills required.
    • Ability to structure and model data for reporting consumption.
  • Data Modeling Mindset
    • Important that candidates understand how data should be organized and structured for analytics/reporting use cases.
    • Not simply a developer role; needs someone capable of creating usable downstream data assets.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Contact Center experience.
  • Genesys platform experience.
  • Banking or Financial Services exposure.
  • Snowflake familiarity.
