  • Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain enterprise database platforms including IBM Db2, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and other relational and NoSQL database technologies.

  • Design and implement highly available, secure, and scalable database environments that support enterprise business applications, analytics, and operational workloads.

  • Monitor database performance and implement optimization strategies including query tuning, execution plan analysis, indexing, partitioning, and configuration tuning to maximize reliability, scalability, and efficiency.

  • Design, implement, and maintain backup, recovery, disaster recovery, replication, resilience, and high availability solutions that protect critical business data.

  • Implement database security controls including role-based access control (RBAC), authentication, authorization, encryption, auditing, dynamic data masking, row- and column-level security, least-privilege access, and protection of sensitive data including PHI.

  • Ensure database availability, operational reliability, scalability, and performance through proactive monitoring, maintenance, capacity planning, and continuous performance management.

  • Manage database lifecycle activities including data retention, archival, restoration, purge, and storage optimization while meeting business, regulatory, and security requirements.

  • Partner with application developers, data engineers, analytics teams, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and business stakeholders to design efficient database solutions, optimize workloads, and support application releases.

  • Administer AWS database services including Amazon RDS, Amazon Aurora, and Amazon Redshift, including provisioning, configuration, monitoring, security, backup, scaling, and performance optimization.

  • Support database migration, modernization, cloud adoption, integration, and consolidation initiatives across on-premises and cloud environments.

  • Troubleshoot complex database issues, perform root cause analysis, and resolve production incidents to minimize business disruption.

  • Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline database provisioning, monitoring, maintenance, backup validation, security validation, and operational processes.

  • Maintain database documentation, operational standards, procedures, and best practices.

  • Ensure compliance with organizational data governance standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Utilize AI-powered tools responsibly to improve operational efficiency, automate routine work, enhance solution quality, and support informed decision-making in alignment with organizational standards.

  • Participate in after-hours support and scheduled maintenance activities as needed.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • Seven (7) or more years of experience administering enterprise database environments.

  • Professional database certifications (e.g., IBM Db2, MongoDB, AWS Certified Database - Specialty, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or equivalent) preferred.

  • Experience administering enterprise database platforms including IBM Db2, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and other relational and NoSQL database technologies.

  • Strong SQL programming skills and expertise in database architecture, physical and logical design, indexing, partitioning, query optimization, execution plans, and performance tuning.

  • Strong understanding of database administration including backup and recovery, replication, clustering, high availability, disaster recovery, resilience, and business continuity planning.

  • Experience implementing enterprise database security including RBAC, authentication, authorization, encryption, auditing, least-privilege access, dynamic data masking, row- and column-level security, and protection of sensitive data including PHI.

  • Experience supporting Windows and Linux server environments.

  • Experience administering AWS database services including Amazon RDS, Amazon Aurora, and Amazon Redshift.

  • Strong understanding of relational database architecture, database lifecycle management, and operational best practices.

  • Ability to optimize database performance within high-volume transactional and analytical environments.

  • Experience with database monitoring, administration, automation, and performance management tools.

  • Experience supporting database migration, modernization, data warehousing, ETL processes, or business intelligence solutions preferred.

  • Experience developing automation using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar scripting technologies preferred.

  • Experience with DevOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines preferred.

  • Familiarity with healthcare, financial services, or other highly regulated industries preferred.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while responding effectively to production incidents in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity, security, compliance, and operational excellence.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across cross-functional technical and business teams.

Salary: $ 116,700- 140,000

This role is bonus eligible based on individual and company performance.
