Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough crisis assessments and implement effective interventions for clients facing acute mental health emergencies.
• Provide immediate and compassionate counseling to individuals experiencing distress, ensuring that they feel heard and supported.
• Establish collaborative relationships with law enforcement and emergency responders to ensure client safety during critical situations.
• Facilitate follow-up care, offer ongoing support, and guide clients toward the best treatment resources for their needs.
• Utilize crisis intervention strategies and de-escalation techniques to manage challenging situations effectively.
• Engage in continual professional development opportunities to enhance skills in crisis counseling and trauma-informed care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with individuals facing mental health crises, including those grappling with addiction and its associated challenges. With a focus on trauma-informed approaches, you will provide care to clients from diverse backgrounds, empowering them to navigate their unique journeys toward recovery. Our clients often deal with complex emotional and psychological issues, necessitating skilled, empathetic support tailored to each individual's circumstances.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential.
• A minimum of 3 years of recent experience in crisis intervention and mental health counseling.
• Additional training in trauma-informed care or crisis counseling preferred.
• Proven experience providing support to clients in immediate mental health crises.
• Proficiency in evidence-based crisis intervention techniques.
• Strong communication skills to effectively build rapport with clients in distress.
• Cultural competence and empathy are essential to connect with a diverse clientele.
• Ability to conduct rapid assessments and create personalized crisis intervention plans.
• In-depth knowledge of the ethical and legal standards that govern crisis counseling.

Preferred Experience

• Specialization or certification in addiction therapy or trauma-informed practices.
• Experience in a community health setting or similar environments is desirable.
• Familiarity with local resources and support systems for mental health clients in Tampa, Florida.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 70,000 to 95,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. We offer a competitive compensation package that includes:
