Job description

Position Title: Software Integration Engineer (SIE) Level 3
Location: Annapolis Junction, MD
Clearance Required: TS/SCI with Poly
Employment Type: Full-time 


Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Software Integration Engineer (SIE) Level 3 to join our team supporting a mission-critical, large-scale, on-premises Kubernetes infrastructure. This role focuses on integrating, configuring, maintaining, and enhancing COTS/GOTS software components in a high-performance computing environment that supports multiple tenants and applications across classified networks.

You will work closely with DevOps, Security, and Application teams to ensure seamless integration of new services and enforce best practices in automation, monitoring, and containerized infrastructure.


Key Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, compile, and support COTS/GOTS software across heterogeneous OS environments

  • Administer and troubleshoot Kubernetes workloads, networking, ingress, and persistent storage

  • Maintain and optimize a multi-tenant, on-prem Kubernetes cluster used in mission-critical operations

  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash and Python

  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Helm and Ansible

  • Monitor system and software performance using tools like Prometheus and Grafana

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and secure deployment workflows

  • Generate and maintain documentation for full software stack and integration processes

  • Provide ownership for integration and sustainment of HPC software tools


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 8+ years of relevant experience

    • OR 5+ years of directly related experience in Computer Science (in lieu of a degree) and 8+ years of relevant experience

    • OR Industry certifications (e.g., CKA) may substitute for one year of experience

    • OR Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for up to two years of experience

Must have experience in:

  • Linux CLI and basic system administration

  • Scripting with Bash and Python

  • Kubernetes cluster administration and troubleshooting

  • Docker or similar containerization technologies

  • Infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Helm)

  • Monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana

  • Git-based source control and team collaboration workflows


Desired Skills
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)

  • Familiarity with the Atlassian tool suite (JIRA, Confluence)

  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline design and maintenance

  • Strong understanding of DevSecOps principles and secure code deployment
