Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced California Workers' Compensation Claims Examiner to join their growing Claims team. This is an excellent opportunity for a claims professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will have experience managing indemnity claims from inception through resolution while ensuring compliance with California Workers' Compensation laws and regulations. This is a fully remote, temp-to-perm opportunity.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a caseload of California Workers' Compensation claims from inception through resolution.
  • Investigate claims, determine compensability, establish reserves, and develop appropriate claim strategies.
  • Coordinate with injured workers, employers, attorneys, medical providers, and vocational professionals throughout the life of the claim.
  • Review medical records, wage information, and legal documentation to evaluate claim exposure and determine appropriate benefits.
  • Negotiate settlements and work closely with defense counsel on litigated claims.
  • Maintain timely and accurate claim documentation within the claims management system.
  • Ensure compliance with California Workers' Compensation statutes, regulations, and company claim handling guidelines.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of California Workers' Compensation Claims Examiner experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of California Workers' Compensation laws, regulations, and benefit administration.
  • Must reside in California
  • Experience handling indemnity and litigated California Workers' Compensation claims.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to independently manage a full caseload in a remote environment.
  • Proficiency with claims management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • SIP certification preferred but not required.
Salary & Benefits:
  • $45.00 – $55.00 per hour, depending on experience
