How do remote automation engineers typically collaborate with on-site teams to ensure project success?

Remote Automation Engineers often work closely with on-site teams through regular video meetings, collaborative project management tools, and shared documentation platforms. Clear communication is key, as remote engineers may need to coordinate testing schedules, troubleshoot issues in real-time, and provide virtual support during equipment installation or updates. It's common to use remote desktop software and cloud-based environments to access systems securely. Proactive communication and responsiveness help bridge the distance, ensuring that automation projects stay on track and meet quality standards.

What is a remote automation engineer?

A Remote Automation Engineer is a professional who designs, develops, and maintains automated systems and processes, often working from a remote location rather than on-site. They typically focus on creating scripts, tools, and workflows that help improve efficiency, quality, and reliability in software development, IT operations, or industrial processes. Their responsibilities may include writing code for test automation, configuring CI/CD pipelines, and collaborating with remote teams to optimize business operations. Working remotely allows them to support projects in various locations while leveraging digital communication and collaboration tools.

What does a remote automation engineer do?

A remote automation engineer uses technology to streamline, improve, and automate the manufacturing process. Your responsibilities in this work from home position include QA duties, testing software, developing computer systems, simulating programs, and using sensors to get accurate measurements. Your duties construct the automation processes of a specific manufacturing process. The different processes you work with govern the delivery and production of the process. You streamline processes for maximum efficiency without violating regulations or sacrificing the quality of products.

Company Overview

Our client is a fast-growing Web3 fintech startup headquartered in Vancouver, Canada, building the world’s first self-custody stablecoin neobank. Backed by top-tier investors including YZi Labs, DraperDragon, Amber Group, and KuCoin Ventures with over US.6M raised, the company provides stablecoin-powered invoicing, payroll management, social commerce checkout, and cross-border settlement solutions for small and medium-sized businesses globally.

The founding team consists of veterans from Binance, OKX, Kraken, Block (Square), Capital One, TikTok, and Amazon. Using account abstraction and AI-powered financial copilots, the platform makes blockchain technology invisible to end users — enabling seamless stablecoin adoption at scale.

Key Responsibilities

1. Own end-to-end testing of web applications and APIs, including functional, integration, regression, and E2E testing to ensure system quality and stability.

2. Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive test cases to continuously improve test coverage.

3. Lead or contribute to building automated testing frameworks (API automation, E2E automation).

4. Write test scripts and develop testing utilities using Python to improve efficiency and scalability.

5. Perform API testing (REST / GraphQL) and validate business logic and data integrity.

6. Manage and track defects; collaborate with developers to reproduce and resolve issues.

7. Set up and maintain test environments; integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.

8. Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams; participate in requirement reviews and identify quality risks early.

9. Analyze production issues and logs to continuously optimize testing strategies and the overall quality system.

Requirements

Must-Have

1. Bachelor’s degree or above (CS or related fields preferred but not required).

2. 3+ years of software testing experience, preferably in web or internet application environments.

3. Strong understanding of software testing methodologies (functional, regression, integration testing, etc.).

4. Proficiency in Python with the ability to write test scripts and automation tools.

5. Hands-on experience with automation frameworks such as pytest, Cypress, or Playwright.

6. Familiarity with API testing tools (Postman, httpx) and testing methodologies.

7. Experience with defect tracking and collaboration tools (Jira, Notion, Trello).

8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; detail-oriented and responsible.

9. Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese (spoken and written) — the engineering team primarily communicates in Mandarin.

Nice-to-Have

• Front-end or back-end development experience; ability to read and debug code.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and automated test integration.

• Performance/load testing experience (Locust, JMeter).

• Experience testing microservices or distributed systems.

• Familiarity with logging/monitoring tools (Grafana, Loki).

• Ability to independently design test strategies and drive quality improvements.

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive base salary (range is open and flexible based on candidate caliber).

• Stock options / token allocation available.

• Partial compensation in stablecoins (USDT/USDC) can be arranged.

• Join a well-funded early-stage Web3 startup with significant growth trajectory.
