Job Description

This role utilizes analytical skills to create a comprehensive estimate of damages for 1st and 3rd party material damage claims leading to the proper disposition.National General is seeking a Field Auto Appraiser to join our Santa Rosa, CA Claims team. This is a remote, territory-based role that will service the corridor between Satna Rosa, CA and San Rafael, CA.The ideal candidate will have experience managing a variety of auto claims, conducting vehicle inspections, and using CCC ONE estimating software to prepare accurate damage estimates while working closely with repair facilities and customers. If you are an experienced auto appraiser who enjoys working in the field and delivering excellent customer service, we encourage you to apply!Key Responsibilities

Builds established relationships with both internal and external customers

Applies thorough understanding of regulatory compliance and fair claims practices

Negotiates settlements, makes settlement payments and documents all activities in the file within escalated authority limits

Processes a deep understanding of the content of all policy types written by the company

Exhibits proficient estimating fundamentals in order to create estimates of damages on 1st and 3rd party material damage losses

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job does not have supervisory duties.

As a requirement of employment, individuals who currently hold an active insurance license must terminate all existing appointments prior to onboarding and must not hold any outside appointments at any point during employment. Applicants seeking an adjuster role who also hold a resident producer license must formally surrender that license when instructed to by the licensing team. Base compensation offered for this role is:

Field Adjuster Cons I: $26.49 - $40.99/hour

Field Adjuster Cons II: $28.03 - $43.70/hour
Field Adjuster Sr. Cons I: $35.82 - $50.24/hour


Compensation is based on experience and qualifications. Total compensation for this role may include additional components, such as incentive pay (for example, commission or bonus), if applicable.
