About the Organization

At Brighter Life Social Work, we are committed to enhancing the well-being of vulnerable populations through comprehensive advocacy, mental health support, and access to vital resources. Our agency specializes in addressing social challenges such as substance abuse, homelessness, and domestic violence, and we pride ourselves on our person-centered approach that involves close collaboration with community partners. We are dedicated to promoting social justice and creating a supportive environment conducive to lasting change.

Work Environment

This position offers a unique opportunity to work remotely while being integral to a detox center's operations. As part of our team, you will engage with clients facing significant life challenges, while leveraging technology and virtual tools to meet their needs effectively. This setting requires flexibility, as you may occasionally need to adjust your schedule to meet client demands, including evenings or weekends as necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate clientsโ€™ social, emotional, and environmental situations, identifying key issues and barriers to recovery.
  • Design and implement individualized service plans, detailing specific goals and interventions tailored to each clientโ€™s unique needs.
  • Provide empathetic counseling and support to individuals and families coping with the complexities of addiction, navigating their detox process and recovery journey.
  • Facilitate crisis interventions, conducting risk assessments and developing safety plans as required, ensuring a client-centered approach.
  • Support clients by collaboratively connecting them with community resources and services, creating pathways that enhance recovery outcomes.
  • Engage in active community outreach to inform the public about our services, promote awareness of substance use issues, and foster collaborative partnerships with local resources.
  • Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and ongoing training to stay current with best practices and contribute to agency growth.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The focus of this role is primarily on individuals experiencing substance use disorders who are in the detoxification phase. Many clients may come from diverse backgrounds, facing challenges such as economic instability, trauma, and systemic barriers. Our goal is to provide them with comprehensive support that addresses their immediate needs while equipping them with the tools necessary for recovery and self-sufficiency.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
  • Current and active state licensing as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW).
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed care principles and social justice frameworks.
  • Exceptional communication skills, demonstrating cultural competence and the ability to relate to diverse populations.
Preferred Experience
  • Minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in a social service agency, preferably within substance use treatment or mental health support.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of community resources, crisis intervention techniques, and best practices in case management.
Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this position ranges from $60,000 to $100,000 annually, complemented by a sign-on bonus. In addition to competitive pay, we offer:

  • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits, including medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Employer-matched retirement plans to help achieve your long-term financial objectives.
  • Generous vacation and paid time off that includes personal days and paid holidays.
  • Opportunities for continuing education and professional development to enhance your skills and expand your knowledge base.
