What is a remote auditor?

Remote Auditors are professionals who perform audits and assessments of an organization's financial records, processes, or compliance standards from a location outside of the client's physical premises, often using digital tools and secure communication platforms. They review documents, conduct interviews, and analyze data virtually to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance. Remote auditing has become increasingly popular as it allows greater flexibility, reduced travel costs, and easier access to global clients. Despite working remotely, auditors maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to the same standards as on-site audits.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote auditor, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Auditor, you need strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid grasp of auditing standards, often backed by a degree in accounting or finance and relevant certifications like CPA or CIA. Familiarity with audit software, data analytics tools, and secure file-sharing platforms is typically required. Exceptional communication, time management, and self-motivation are crucial soft skills for collaborating with clients and teams from a distance. These abilities ensure thorough, accurate audits and effective remote collaboration, which are essential for maintaining compliance and trust in a decentralized work environment.

How does a remote auditor typically collaborate with on-site teams and clients during an audit process?

Remote Auditors frequently communicate with on-site teams and clients using video conferencing, secure document-sharing platforms, and collaborative project management tools. They coordinate audit schedules, request supporting documentation, and clarify findings through regular virtual meetings and emails. Although working remotely reduces travel, it requires strong organizational and communication skills to ensure all parties stay aligned and deadlines are met. Building trust and rapport with clients remotely is essential for accessing information efficiently and conducting thorough audits.

Job description

The Problem

As Flock expands across communities, our logistics footprint and hub operations are growing to support field activity and product distribution. This expansion creates a need for clear on-site leadership to streamline receiving, inventory auditing, and facility management while maintaining strict safety standards. You'll take ownership of our hub operations, ensuring seamless distribution of materials to our field technicians and maintaining an efficient, safe workspace.

What You'll Own
  • Oversee day-to-day hub operations, facility management, and general inventory auditing activities to ensure minimal disruption to distribution.

  • Prepare, package, and label materials for inbound and outbound shipments in accordance with designated guidelines and procedures.

  • Manage inventory cycle counts, audit stock, and report product quality concerns directly to supply leadership.

  • Coordinate bespoke product orders for field technicians while maintaining full compliance with collection protocols.

  • Maintain overarching OSHA responsibilities across the suite, including site safety documentation, forklift operation, and safety training schedules.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments and senior management to align hub tasks with upcoming operational requirements.

What This Role is Not
  • This isn't a strategy-only role, you will be on the floor daily executing inventory audits, material handling, and equipment operation.

  • This is not a isolated warehousing job, you'll communicate constantly across teams to align inventory needs with field operations and supply leadership.

  • This isn't a role with flexible site standards, strict adherence to OSHA, safety protocols, and quality standards is required at all times.

What You Bring
  • Hands-on experience in a warehouse or hub distribution environment.

  • Valid forklift license with demonstrated skill in operating material handling equipment safely.

  • Practical knowledge of software tools such as Google Sheets and Word, with Salesforce experience being a strong plus.

  • Capability to perform physical material handling tasks, including bending and lifting up to 50 lbs.

  • Strong organizational habits with a track record of setting work priorities, managing time effectively, and maintaining reliable attendance.

Compensation

In this role, you'll receive a starting salary between $53,000 and $64,000 as well as Flock Stock Options. Base salary is determined by job-related experience, education/training, as well as market indicators. Your recruiter will discuss this in depth with you during our first chat.

Location

This position requires candidates to be located in the Dallas Area.
