Position Overview:ย 

Chas Roberts isย seekingย a versatile and highly accountable Oracleย Developerย to serve as the primary developer for Oracle-based applications across multiple departments.ย This roleย operatesย as the primary day-to-day developerย and collaboratesย with IT Leadership onย escalatedย architectural, cross-system, or modernization decisions.ย This individual willย manage, develop, andย maintainย Oracleย applicationsย and tangential 3rdย party applications and integrations. The ideal candidate willย demonstrateย technicalย expertiseย inย PL/SQLย coding, Oracle APEX, and Oracle Forms,ย andย possessย exceptional interpersonal and documentation skills to support a diverse organizational environment.ย 

Key Responsibilities:ย 

Core Development & Maintenance:ย 

  • Serve as theย primaryย programmer supporting multiple departments by developing,ย maintaining, andย optimizingย Oracle-based applications.ย 

  • Write,ย optimize, andย maintainย complex SQL queries for Oracle databases.ย 

  • Design, develop, and implement user-friendly applications in Oracle APEX to meet diverse departmental needs.ย 

  • Support,ย develop,ย troubleshoot, andย manageย Oracle Forms-based systems to ensure continued functionality.ย 

Upgrades & Migrations:ย 

  • Participate inย the planning, testing, and execution of Oracle softwareย patches andย upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.ย 

  • Develop and execute comprehensive migration plans forย any system upgrades or system changes needed.ย 

  • Migrate existing Oracle Forms Processes to Oracle APEX for increased sustainability.ย 

Integrations:ย 

  • Integratingย software and multiple data sourcesย using different methodologiesย 

  • Develop andย maintainย webย APIโ€™s, SFTP,ย point-to-point integrations, Pub & Sub, etc.ย 

Testing & Validation:ย 

  • Implement rigorous testing protocols toย validateย processes and code prior to deployment.ย 

  • Ensure thorough testing and quality assurance for all upgrades, new developments, and changes to existing systems.ย 

  • Collaborate with stakeholders toย validateย system functionality and compliance with user requirements.ย 

Collaboration & Accountability:ย 

  • Act as the key point of contact for programming needs across departments, ensuringย timelyย andย accurateย delivery of solutions.ย 

  • Collaborate directly with end users and department leaders to gather requirements, provide support, and deliver high-quality results.ย 

  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with stakeholders, proactively managing expectations and project timelines.ย 

  • Communicateย progress, blockers, and timeliness for assigned tasks to IT leadershipย and related department leaders.ย 

Documentation & Knowledge Sharing:ย 

  • Document existing and newly developed code, workflows, and visual designs to ensure long-term maintainability and understanding.ย 

  • Maintain up-to-date records of all upgrades, changes, and testing processes.ย 

  • Provide technical insights and guidance to other teams or contractors whenย required.ย

Experience:ย

  • 3โ€“5ย yearsย PL/SQL and APEX experience in production environments.ย 

  • Exposure to or experience with Oracle Forms and other Oracle systems.ย 

  • Expertiseย inย software development lifecycle processes, process automation, and integrations.ย 

Technical Skills:ย 

  • Expertiseย in SQL, PL/SQL, and database-driven application development.ย 

  • Proficiencyย with Oracleย databasesย and performance tuning.ย 

  • Familiarity with version control systemsย and debuggingย methodology.ย ย 

  • Familiarity with modern web development practices (HTML, JavaScript, PHP,ย WordPress,+).ย
