Summary
About the Position: Serves as an Audiovisual Producation Specialist in support of the training, education, and communcation functions of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Learning Center.

Duties
Help
  • Assist customers in determining multimedia production work order requirements by analyzing and developing project goals and storyboards for effective interactive multimedia design.
  • Serve as a director for studio and on location shoots; directing shots and coordinating with production personnel to ensure proper lighting, blocking, framing, camera angles, sound, and effects.
  • Utilize a variety of computerized equipment such as adobe software and other audio visual production equipment to create and edit multimedia products.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on technical and operational capabilities of equipment and aesthetic problems.
  • Manage a variety of assignments in connection with audio, video, photography, audiovisual, multimedia, animation, and interactive media productions.

This is a Limited Area of Consideration for applicants that are Current Civilian Employees of the Command, USACE and the other employment authority categories listed above.
In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Assisting with the production of multimedia and audiovisual materials. 2) Assist with operating a high definition still camera; 3) Assist with staging equipment and people in studio and remote environments. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as photography, radio or television production, motion picture production, or other fields related to the position.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
