Position: Associate Attorney
Location: Fully Remote (Anywhere in Maine)
Compensation: $80,000–$95,000 + Full Benefits
Bar Admission: Active Maine Bar license required (must be in good standing)

About the Firm

Since 2011, the firm has helped thousands of individuals navigate financial hardship through compassionate legal representation. Their practice focuses on debt resolution, consumer advocacy, creditor disputes, and tenant rights. The culture emphasizes collaboration, work-life balance, and delivering exceptional client service.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who wants to focus on meaningful legal work without the pressure of billable hours, business development, or partnership expectations. You'll manage your own caseload while working remotely with the support of an experienced legal team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage client matters from intake through resolution.
  • Negotiate with creditors and opposing counsel.
  • Handle legal matters involving consumer issues, debt collection, financial hardship, and tenant rights.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and legal correspondence.
  • Utilize the firm's Salesforce-based case management system.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and support staff to achieve positive client outcomes.

What You Won't Do

  • No billable hour requirements.
  • No marketing or business development.
  • No client origination expectations.
  • No weekend or late-night work—standard Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM schedule.

Ideal Candidate

  • Active Maine Bar license in good standing (required).
  • Open to attorneys at all experience levels.
  • Strong communication, organization, and client advocacy skills.
  • Passion for helping individuals through challenging situations.
  • Able to manage a caseload independently while collaborating with a remote team.
  • Committed to a full-time position (not maintaining a competing legal practice during business hours).

What You'll Receive

  • Competitive salary of $90,000 plus comprehensive benefits.
  • Fully remote position—work from anywhere in Maine.
  • Company-provided equipment, including laptop, dual monitors, and accessories.
  • Ongoing mentorship and support from experienced attorneys.
  • Meaningful, steady caseload without the stress of traditional law firm billable requirements.
  • Collaborative, mission-driven culture focused on helping clients and supporting its attorneys.

If you're looking for a remote opportunity where you can make a real difference while enjoying an outstanding work-life balance, we'd love to hear from you.
